Make Breakfast easy and open a box of Goodness

January 25, 2017 By Melanie Roberts Leave a Comment

This post is written by me on behalf of General Mills. All opinions are entirely my own. This shop has been compensated by Acorn Influence, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #BigGBreakfast We say Cereal ideas for everyone.

Breakfast in our home is always fun, I try to keep it simple but try to mix it up often. My daughter always tells me that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and she wants something good.

Lucky for my daughter, I shop at Publix and they always carry a large variety of cereals like Honey Nut Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs or Cinnamon Toast Crunch and they are full of whole grain, without high fructose syrup and a better wholesome breakfast option that make for a great start every single day! They are also at a great price, every single day!

Here are a few tips how we do Breakfast at our house:

  • During the week when everyone is in a hurry to head off to school and work I like to put the cereal into a small container for on the go, hand the kids a cup of milk and let them have their breakfast in the car, saves time and they don’t have to miss out on the most important meal of the day.
  • I also love to send cereal as a snack, without milk. It can be a great alternative to those sweet or fried snacks. Let the kids pick their favorite and one box should last at least 2 weeks worth of snacks if not more.
  • On the weekends we love to pimp our breakfast a little bit, everyone gets to pick their favorite cereal flavor and we serve milk along with Orange juice, fresh fruit and even yogurt. The kids can create their very own breakfast buffet and add all the things they like best. Win win for all and everyone is happy!
  • Last but not least, we do serve cereal for dinner some nights. Have you ever had Breakfast for dinner? If not, you are missing out. Try to have a bowl of your favorite cereal at night. Saves money, saves the cooking headache and everyone will get a kick out of having breakfast at night. My kids love it, their favorite is the Cookie Crisp and think it’s a special treat.

How do you ensure your kids have a great start into the day? How do you do Breakfast at your house? Do you spend hours in the kitchen in the morning just to hear “I’m not hungry” or “I don’t like it” ?

No worries, pick up a box or two and spoil your kids every single morning by dishing up their favorite cereal. They will love it and you can feel good about serving a healthy meal. The time you saved cooking can be used for Mom time!

Cheers to happy mornings in your home from now! Would love to hear your morning routine, leave me a comment below and let’s chat.
