Road trips are always fun and if your kids are like mine, the minute we buckle up in the car I hear “MOM… I’m hungry, can I have a snack”. I know it must be a kid thing, mine could eat a 5 course breakfast but soon as we leave the driveway they are hungry. Drives me crazy!

For our road trips this summer I wanted to be prepared, I have the car already pre loaded with phone and iPad chargers, wipes, drink packs, phones are all loaded with apps and my snack pantry has been stocked up with Twizzlers Twist Original and many other fun snack ideas that are perfect for a road trip this summer.
I’m ready and can jump in the car at a moments notice, if we decide to hit the lake to catch a few fish after work, I’m prepared, snacks are a go and drinks are ready, too. Love it. The best part Twizzlers Twist Original won’t melt making it perfect to take along for any road trip and the kids will love the snack.
While picking up a few items at Walmart the other day for our road trips and fishing trips, I also picked up a few other items to make little snack packs for the kids to keep them busy during the drive. I got portion sized plastic bags to be able to divide the snacks into smaller portions so they won’t eat them all in the first 10 minutes on the road. I also picked up a few of the Twizzlers treats along with other items that I knew we needed.
This is how I made my Twizzlers Snack Packs that can be stored in a container and will be ready to go anytime someone hollers “ROAD TRIP”. Make it a #TwizzlersSummer this year and save you a headache since you will not have chocolate hands or sticky fingers everywhere.
My daughter picked her favorite ingredients for the snack packs which included raisins, different kind of cereal, pecans and walnuts, mini marshmallows and her favorite Twizzlers.
Cut the Twizzlers into bite size pieces and add everything to a large bowl, mix well. Separate into snack size plastic baggies and seal to keep them fresh all summer long. I also cut a few of the Twizzlers Twist Original into half and added them to the snack baggies and made a few fun game sheets that the kids can use to keep themselves busy during the drive.
We all have fond memories of road trips looking for different state tags, counting a certain color or make of cars and so many more games we used to play when we were little during our summer road trips, let the kids enjoy them, too. It will be fun, ask them to play along and I made a printable for you below, just print it, cut it and tape it down on your snack packs, simple as that!
I’m excited to hit the road this summer, we won’t be going on a big trip this year, but we will take many little trips all around Central Florida to keep us busy from the beach to the lakes, fishing and swimming is on our agent along with a few theme parks, we will have a blast and knowing that the kids will have plenty of snacks to keep them fuel and my pocketbook will not run dry at every concession stand, I think it’s going to make for an awesome summer this year.
Have you prepared your own snack packs for your kids yet? What items would you include? Ever thought of adding Twizzlers Twist Original in your snack bags? Give it a try, you will love it and the kids will too.
