It’s Spring time, finally! I know some of you are still sitting inside watching the snowflakes fall but here in Florida spring has finally arrived. This time of the year is my favorite time, flowers are blooming, temperatures are perfect and strawberry season is in full swing.
I love Strawberries and they are almost in every meal this time of the year whether as a dessert, a salad or sometimes even in the main dish. So a few weeks ago I had this chatter on my friend from Germany’s Facebook page that they use flavored vinegar. I had no idea what that was nor have I seen it. Apparently it’s all the rage in Germany and Europe to infuse vinegar and in her dinner idea she had used Peach flavored vinegar for her salad.
I kind of loved that concept and took off to Pinterest and I quickly found a great recipe for Peach Vinegar, who would have known. Have you ever made or used infused vinegar? Oh the ideas people come up with, I love it.
So they all raved about Peach Vinegar, well Peaches aren’t really in season here in Florida so I decided this could be something I could use Strawberries for, why not right? So I read the Peach Infused Vinegar post from Your Southern Peach and decided this is too easy and I would use Strawberries instead.
Well, long story short here is the recipe for the Strawberry infused Vinegar, I kind of skipped a few steps and kept the Strawberry pulp in my vinegar so mine is more a vinaigrette and a little thicker but it was amazing on my Strawberry Spinach Salad for lunch.
Now this was too easy, I kept wondering if I missed a step. I will definitely try the Peach Infused Vinegar as soon as Peach time rolls around and I know it will be a hit. I love everything fruity and the Strawberry Vinegar was amazing.
You can use the Strawberry Vinegar for many different things like my Strawberry Spinach Salad, recipe below or any other salad, marinades for meat and many more things, the possibilities are really endless. Add a little sweet to your meal with the Strawberry Vinaigrette and you will hear everyone raving about it. I promise!
Now you have an amazing lunch or brunch salad, that would work well for dinner if you maybe add some grilled chicken or pork chops. It’s so simple and delicious and totally calls Springtime. The Strawberry Vinegar can be kept in the fridge for a week or two not totally sure how long, I’ve seen people say a week I’ve seen others say a month’s like up to 6 month and then I see others say indefinitely, so I’m not really sure how long it will last, give it a try and what do you have to lose ?? A few Strawberries and some vinegar? Mine never lasts more than a few days, we use it on a lot of different things so I would say, just make it, enjoy it and make a new batch next time around.
I actually used my Intelli Bellini Kitchen Master Machine to create my Strawberry Vinegar in 10 minutes (give or take a few), I love that little powerful machine and use it every single day sometimes even multiple times.
It can cook meals for me, puree, make smoothies, mix, knead, chop, oh you name it, it does it. We are moving to 100% homemade meals and by that I mean almost all homemade ingredients like make my own garlic butter, my own pasta, bread and this machine is awesome and such an amazing kitchen helper.
I would NEVER trade it for the world, gosh I can even make a 3 course meal all at the same time, steam rice in the bottom, steam stuffed chicken breast in the middle and the top I fill with veggies and in about 25-30 minutes dinner is cooked, at the end I make a quick sauce with the rice water, all in the same machine and pot and cleanup is a breeze.
Ok I know, totally off topic here and no it’s not an advertisement, I just love love love this machine. P.s. if you do have the machine toss all the ingredients into the pot, turn on 100C/Level 2 / 7 minutes, then level 10 (puree) for 5 seconds, back to 90C/level 2/ 4 minutes puree on 10 for 5 sec if you like.. VOILA.. Done!!!
Have you had infused vinegar yet? Would love to hear your thoughts and maybe flavor ideas, I know this will be a welcome addition in our meal plan for sure. Leave me a comment below and let’s chat flavors.

My son-in-law makes blackberry vinegar and even though I am not usually a vinegar fan I love having it on my salad. The fruit really adds such a special quality and taste. I will try your recipe next.
