My kids are growing up and so are the Goldfish Snacks turning into Puffs #makeitgopuff

With the kid’s home for the summer, it’s always a challenge to find things the Teens can snack on while I’m at the office. I don’t think I’ve ever ate that many snacks like my boys do. They can go through my snack pantry and within an hour and I have nothing left. Do you have the same problem with your Teens? My Teens love the Goldfish Snacks from sweet to savory they are all a favorite.

I headed to Target the other day during my regular weekly shopping trip to stock up our snack pantry for the week. I had a list of things that the boys wanted like chips, goldfish and chocolate, so I decided to stroll the store for a little bit to see what options Target had. I usually don’t spend much time on snacks, but this summer, the kids are eating me out of house and home. With two growing teenagers in the house I have to choose wisely what I buy and what will go a long way, as well as approved by the Teens.

I grabbed a few goldfish bags and saw a big Goldfish bag on the end of the aisle kind of winking at me. I wasn’t sure what it was at first, but quickly realized that the goldfish are Puffs now. Almost like a Teenage version of the mini Goldfish snacks. These looked interesting and inviting, the flavors was what the kids had asked for, Cheese, Bacon and Buffalo Wings. Perfect for the older kids. I read on the label that they Goldfish Puffs are also gluten free. I think the boys would love the new flavors, the bigger goldfish and different texture, so I grabbed a bag of each flavor to let them try it.

In hopes that each bag would last more than an hour, once the Teens had them in their hands. Be sure to check out my entire shopping trip to see all the snack options I found at Target and some new products, too.

I was kind of excited and wanted to try the new Puffs as well; the bags looked interesting and after all… I’m a mom,  I still can taste test the kids snacks, right? I opened the Cheddar Bacon bag and LOVED the smell. It reminded me of my favorite cheese snack when growing up in Germany. The texture even was the same. I almost ate the entire bag without sharing with the boys.

YUM… I’m glad I found these Goldfish Puffs at Target and my teens kind of love them, too. They haven’t really admitted it yet, but, come on; there is no denying… my older Teen feel asleep with a bag, that’s how I found him the other day. You think he likes the puffs?

Later that day I found both teens fighting over a bag of Goldfish Puffs, I really think they love the new bold flavors of the bigger Goldfish Puffs.

It definitely is a snack for the Teenagers in our home, my Princess, she’s 5 didn’t care for them at all and rather grabbed her normal Goldfish Snacks instead. But the boys loved them. The cheese flavor is great and I started to think that these wouldn’t just be great for an everyday snack, but would also be great for dinners.

You could crush the Puffs up and “bread” your chicken strips, top Mac’n cheese to get a little extra cheese and crunch flavor; you could add it to casseroles and many other dinner dishes.

I couldn’t wait to come up with a chicken dinner, unfortunately my boys ate all three bags (!!) of the Goldfish Puffs before I could make dinner and now I have to head back to Target to pick up more of the Goldfish Puffs.

So, lesson learned if you have Teens in the house, stock up on the Goldfish Puffs, they will go quickly. Better yet, lock them up if you are planning to use them for dinner ideas. Otherwise you will run the risk to run to Target more often then you like.

We had movie night and this is how I found my Teen… YUP.. holding a bag of Goldfish Puffs … all to himself… there is no sharing going on in my house, that’s for sure.
