You have meet my Peanut Gallery many times on the blog, today is a very special day. Today a year ago we adopted our baby Woodstock from a Rescue. He has been living the Dog life and probably will tell you he is enjoying every minute. Who wouldn’t love to get belly rubs, treats, more belly rubs and more treats all day long. Some other pups to play with and tubs full off toys. I think my pups are spoiled rotten and they sure know it.
Woodstock completed our Peanut Gallery and we love each one of them in their very own way. Our Beagle Snoopy is the most gentle little pup that you have ever meet, thanks to Woodstock he now gives kisses. He never before gave kisses or even licked your hand, it was the funniest thing to see Woodstock teach him to give us kisses and slowly Snoopy caught on and gently gives a quick kiss and sits there waiting to see your reaction. He is just too sweet. Woodstock loves to shower everyone with kisses, even the other pups. He’s our little lover boy, so glad he joined our gang a year ago and hard to believe that he has been here already for a year.
Isn’t this the sweetest pic of my daughter and Woodstock? It was a surprise picture on my phone a few weeks ago and it totally shows off their character, both my daughters as well as Woodstock’s. They are just a pea in a pod, love at first sight and can’t be without each other.
Since we love our babies that much I wanted to share a few simple tips for new dog owners or maybe to give you some tips on how to care better for your fur baby.
1. Keep them hydrated during the dog days of Summer, lot’s of fresh water inside and outside the house is a must. My 3 fur babies drink a few gallons a day and some days I feel like I’m just a water boy with benefits [Smile] lots of kisses …
2. Take them for a walk on the morning and evening while the sun isn’t as hot. Just like us humans our fur babies will get hot and overheated, so keep them in the shade or insight during the noon heat.
3. Summer time also brings lots of bugs, fleas and ticks. We try to keep our grass short and no water standing in the yard to have any mosquito larva grow, but sometimes keeping your yard mosquito and flea or tick free isn’t all that easy and we like to protect our babies with a dose of K9 Advantix® II. Did you know that K9 Advantix ® II is a once-a-month topical application for dogs and puppies that REPELS and kills ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes. It’s simple to protect them and protecting your Fur babies means protecting your family as well.
4. Share lots of hugs and kisses with your Fur baby. They will shower you with their love no matter what. If you had a bad day, just think about all the kisses and hugs you will get when you come home, show them you care and pick up a few special treats here and there. Your Fur baby will always appreciate you, show them you are happy to have them in your family.
5. Make regular Vet appointments to keep your fur baby up to date on all their shots and make sure they are happy and healthy. Unlike our human race, these little ones depend on us to take care of them, they can’t just tell you if they have a tummy or ear ache. So pay special attention to their behavior and make sure to get it checked out quickly
These are just a few tips that we like to share with you to keep your fur baby happy and healthy and living a long and happy life with you and your family. After all, they are like kids, they are my babies and I sure want them to be around me for as long as I can.
