If you are anything like us, then you have a few cell phones, some hand held game devices, maybe even an iPad, a few MP3 Players and so on; new technology is awesome, but it also comes with a cost. If I charge all the devices we have in the house, I probly wouldn’t find an empty plug anywhere and it’s not getting any better with the newest and latest technologies that my kids think they have to keep up with.
Batteries aren’t cheap and you may or may not know that, if you leave all those chargers plugged in, they still run up your electric bill; so I came across a product that I had to checkout. If this product holds up to what it claims you can toss out all your chargers and save a ton of money on your electric bill along the way.
Powermat asked our Crazy Family to check out some of their products and see what we have to say; let’s check them out and see what they have to offer.
Who is Powermat?
The first company to not only perfect inductive-based wireless charging but to then bring it to consumers in a widely available, meaningful way via mainstream retail channels, Powermat pioneered the wireless charging category and currently leads the market in device compatibility, retail availability, technological advancement, consumer experience and brand.
What do the Powermat products do?
Wireless Charging
The Powermat Wireless Charging System provides a simple, fast and efficient way to keep all of your favorite personal electronic devices charged. Enabling your devices with Powermat Receivers allows you to Drop and Charge them on any Powermat Mat to experience wireless charging.
Magnetic Alignment
A magnetic attraction between every Receiver and each access point on every Mat assures that alignment is precise and the most efficient charging will occur.
RFiD Handshake
Communication between the Mat and the Receiver allows the mat to deliver an exact amount of power for the proper length of time so that the transfer of power is safe and efficient and no energy is ever wasted.
Audio Confirmation
A unique sound tells you that a solid connection has been made and your device is charging. A second, similar sound is heard when the device is removed.
Charging Light Indication
Each access point has a corresponding light indicator that informs you that wireless charging is occurring.
Auto Shut Off
When a device reaches full charge, power is shut off to that device. This not only saves energy, but it also prevents overcharging of the device’s battery, which can shorten battery life.
Full Charge Check
Once full power is achieved and the Auto Shut Off has occurred to save energy and avoid overcharging the device’s battery, the system will monitor the status of the battery.
Industrial Design – Mats
Powermat Mats are designed to work in a wide range of locations and environments. Whether you are looking to charge a single device on an end table or night stand, multiple devices on a desk or countertop or take the ultimate in convenient charging with you on the road, there is a Powermat solution that is right for you and your needs.
Industrial Design – Receivers
Powermat Receivers are designed to perfectly integrate onto or into the devices they will enable to charge wirelessly.
We pulled the mat out of the box and immediately we were able to charge our cell phones and the Nintendo DS; the cell phones are hooked up with a adapter that comes with the mat, the Nintendo DS can be charged completely wireless if you have the Nintendo Adapter; you just slip the adapter on the Nintendo and lay it on the mat; and it charges. Most devices have an adapter that you can buy so it will be charged completely wireless like the iPhone, Ipod , we are not up to speed in all the new technology and our cell phones are older models, but this mat will still be able to charge it with the enclosed adapter. We loved it, the mat lets you charge 2 devises at one time and will last for up to 4 full charges of most smartphones and even more charges for many other devises.
Once you are done charging your phone, MP3 players etc. and you see that your mat is running low on juice, you just plug the mat into one outlet and let it recharge; then put it away and it will be ready next time you need a charge on any of your devices.
The best part, if you travel a lot you can take the entire charging mat in a small bag that is part of the package and put it in your suitcase, no cords needed and you will be able to charge all your devices while on vacation, long gone are the days where you have to carry around 5 cell phone and MP3 charges. All you need now is the Powermat and you are good to go.
We loved it, we were able to remove all the clutter on the counter and now all our outlets are free again. I don’t have to worry about any of my charging devices running up my electric bill; it’s a wonderful thing. Simple to use and ready right out of the box.
The 2x Charging Powermat retails for $129.00 and if you need receivers for iPhone, iPod, they start at $9.99. Check out their Selection on Amazon.com.
What a clever tool for any busy Mom or dad on the go; you could even keep one in your car and charge your phone while on the go.

I LOVE this giveaway entry system you’ve got going here. So much better than leaving comment after comment. Please keep it up! I hope more people follow your example 🙂 I love entering giveaways, but it can be a pain in the butt!
CrazyMom says
Thanks for letting me know… I love it, but some people have issues with it.. did you see any issues at all?? Have you come back to re-tweet did you see any problems?? Love to hear feedback so we can improve it and make it even more user friendly… glad you like it.

The only problem with making entries too easy to do is the cheaters. If it’s not easy they are less likely to bother. I have been discouraged by the cheating on instant win games – they take the fun out of it.
That being said, I do like your system and have had no trouble. 🙂
