How is your New Year going? Are you still holding on to the New Year’s resolutions or did you give up? I’m still holding on to the resolution that I will make one good thing a day, whether it be a good recipe, a good deed or just something good for myself, one a day and I will do that for the entire year. I think this is easier to keep then to say “I’m gonna get healthy this year” and well, never even start. So far it has been going well.
Its Strawberry season in Florida and I love it. One of my very favorite fruits. I decided to treat my family and myself early with a Strawberry Shortcake to see how they like it.
It was very easy to make and only needed a few ingredients. Best part, it is all made from scratch. My good thing for the day. We are slowly trying to get away from processed food and trust me it is really easy to do. Who needs pre-made cakes and other things when you can whip it up in like 15 minutes and you know what your family is eating.
I also love my grandma’s Strawberry roll, I hate making my own roll. I just can never make it look right or it will break in half, every single time. So in my recipe I combined my love of fresh ingredients with my grandma’s old recipe (yes… it’s another German recipe) and turned it into a single serve recipe idea, dished up in a jar. How cool is that?
Wasn’t this easy? Isn’t it beautiful? My family loved it and I can not wait to dish this up many more times during Strawberry Season.
What fruit would you like to add to your Cream roll and serve it in a Jar? Would love to hear your delicious ideas, leave me a comment below so we can exchange ideas.
