Taboo Hasbro Game {Review & Giveaway}

TABOO, everyone’s favorite game of forbidden words, has gotten a makeover in 2011! Now with a new, sleek look, game changing die and hysterical “Uh-Oh!” buzzer sound, players will frantically try to get their teammates to guess the winning word without using the Taboo words and phrases on their card. How do you get your team to say the word “heart throb” without saying “teenage,” “idol,” “star” or “movies”? With more than 1,000 words for players to try to guess, the “unspeakable” fun can continue for hours.

How to play Taboo: (in case you’ve never played before…*smile*)

  • Each player helps the team guess a specific word on a card without using the words that are off limits.
  • Be careful. Opponents will be listening for the TABOO words that can’t be used in game play. Each time a team hears a TABOO word they can sound the new “Uh-Oh!” buzzer, signaling that the opposing team’s turn is up! But if team members guess the word before the buzzer sounds, a point is won.
  • And now a new game changing die adds even more excitement to the game, forcing players to do things like not speak or use their hands on their turn!

What is our take?
My husband was actually very excited to see this game arrive a few days ago. His first word were “OMG, I can not believe it.. My Mom and Dad and their Friends always played this game and us kids never got to play”…….Hubby couldn’t wait to play the game, of course we send the kids to bed and asked a few friends to comer over for a game night. I honestly never played Taboo either, so it was an experience. This Version of Taboo is for 4 players and up and requires 2 AAA batteries
(not included in the box). We had a blast and it was such a fun game night with wonderful friends and a nice bottle of wine.. added a little extra fun :0). With over 1000 updated words to guess and a cool new buzzer sound, I bet the next game night would be a great success at your house as well.

Where to buy it:
You can purchase your own Taboo game through Amazon.com, Walmart.com or any of your local retailer and it retails for $26.99.

For more information: Be sure to head over to Hasbro’s website or Facebook page.

Win it:
One Lucky 2Boys+1Girl=OneCrazyMom reader will win their very own Taboo Game; just enter our Giveaway below.

    I’d love to win this because my boyfriend and I are always looking for something fun and cheap to do! It would be nice to be able to just hang out and play a fun game, especially if we have friends over. Just watching tv is starting to get old.

    I loved Taboo growing up, but don’t have my own copy of the game yet. My kids aren’t quite old enough yet to play, but always looking for a good game to play when friends or extended family are over.
