I remember my favorite cereal as a child – Boo Berry, the blueberry flavored cereal with the friendly ghost on the package. I don’t know what I liked the best, the way the milk turned blue after I had finished eating or the crunchy mini marshmallows. One year I described Boo Berry to my kids. “I want to try it!” they exclaimed. We searched for it but couldn’t find it at any stores. When my husband came home and told me the local grocery store had received an end cap display, I made a special stop by the store to pick up a box. I couldn’t believe it when they told me they had sold out their entire shipment. “It’s a seasonal item,” they informed me, “We only get it in stock once a year.”

When I received an email letting me know General Mills had released the three classics, Boo Berry, Count Chocula and Franken Berry , beginning in September for a limited time at Target, I made a mental note that I would stock up on Boo Berry before they were sold out.
