Each year we make resolutions and each year we break them within the first week; this year.. Well I would hope it will be different. We decided, that the entire family would get healthier and happier. That being said, everyone in our family from the 4 year old to the 2 dogs will strap on their running shoes every day and we will run as far as we can; my goal is to improve the running distance by the week.
I totally understand that the 4 year old will not run as far or as fast as the Teen’s, but it’s a start and with her, we may bend the rules and sit her on her new bike that Santa delivered. Our goal is to get the family fit this year by simple things that everyone can follow along.
We are trying to not spend money on a gym membership, so running the lake or the local parks is a great alternative; some jumping jacks and pushups all inclusive of course.
Besides working out, we are also changing our diet. We are cutting down on the meat, which is sooo A O.K. with me, I’m not a big meat person, I will be totally fine. Less meat and more salad and fruit will be on our breakfast, lunch and dinner menu this year. We are also adding multivitamins for everyone; did you know there is a Multivitamin for everyone from teen to toddler, seniors and everyone in-between? I found a HUGE selection on my current trip to Walgreens. We are also removing any and all sugary drinks like soda, fruit juices and syrup’s out of the house; it will be replaced with water, lots of water and maybe the occasional splash of 100% Fruit Juice.
Over the Holidays I had some time, while the kids all played with their presents, to come up with a plan on how to live better in 2013 and besides the diet change and adding sport to our lifestyle, there is also a very important thing…. reduce stress! Stress is in everyone’s life nowadays and everything that makes things easier on us, especially moms is a BIG help. I came across the Walgreens Mobile App and to my surprise it had a lot to offer to make my life easier.
How would you like to refill a prescription while sitting in the carpool pickup line; making a quick purchase for cough drops while sitting at the soccer field and having them conveniently delivered for free (after a $25 purchase) to your front door; or how about making an appointment for your flu shot in-between getting breakfast and lunchboxes ready? The Walgreens Mobile App will do all that and more for you.
I’m finally able to switch my prescriptions back to Walgreens, our prescription coverage is finally back on the Walgreens preferred list and I couldn’t have been happier when I had to refill my regular prescription the other day. Transfer was soo simple and to my surprise the mobile App even told me about a current offer; get a $25 Walgreens gift card when you transfer your prescription. Super cool and now besides picking up my refill I can grab my FREE $25 Gift card, too. Thanks to my mobile App for keeping up with all the deals and offers; one less thing I have to do.
The new Walgreens Mobile App will be a HUGE Lifesaver for my entire family in 2013; a lot less stress remembering when to take medications, the app will let you set a reminder, you can also get healthy tips and information along with exclusive coupons and offers and best part, the App is FREE!
When you download the App, be sure to also register for your Free Balance Rewards program, you sure don’t want to miss out on extra cash in your pocket every time you refill a prescription or buy health related products or deals that offer Balance Rewards.
I made a quick purchase online through my Mobile App; it was too cold to hit the store the other day (yes, go ahead and laugh when I say it was too cold in Florida to leave the house, yes.. it was in the 30’s and yes… I’m freezing… so laugh, that’s totally fine… OR… Send me some snow to go with our brrrr cold weather), but I saw some great deals for the upcoming cold and flu season that I knew would come in handy. I found an online code $10 off a $50 purchase as well, making the deal even sweeter and now all my items will be delivered to my front door and my Balance Rewards Points will be added to my account for the items purchased that qualified as well. All while I’m sitting in my PJ’s sipping hot cocoa; that’s the life!!
I transferred my prescription the other day and when it was time to pick up my refill, we found some more deals at our local Walgreens, so we jumped inside to pick up some items in the Pharmacy area like cold medications and the always needed Walgreens ibuprofen; love when that is on a BOGO sale; you know you will always need an extra bottle with kids around. I also found a good deal for some hot/cold heating pads, my neck has been killing me and these work wonders and love when they are on a sale, making them next to nothing and get some Balance Rewards points on top of that added to your account; LOVE IT!!
Let me tell you, be sure to walk your local Walgreens the next time you are there, you never know what deals may jump at you; or load the Walgreens App to have all the current sales, coupons, fliers and deals at your finger tip; can’t get any better than that.
I think our resolutions are feasible and we are off to a good and #HappyHealthy start with very little effort; everyone can follow and get their family healthy and happy in 2013 with just a few lifestyle changes and whatever you change, don’t forget to add the Walgreens App, you don’t want me to tell you in June “I told you so!!” now do you?
To learn more about the Walgreens Mobile App or how you can get your family a bit healthier and happier in 2013, be sure to visit Walgreens on the web, follow on Facebook or Twitter and of course download the app. I’ve also created a Google Plus Story about my shopping trip and the Walgreens Mobile App, be sure to check it out.

It’s a bit nippy here in Michigan, too, but we made sure that we picked an active dog breed to help eliminate any inclination to put off daily exercise. Our furry boy is great – he never lets us forget 🙂

It was nice to see that you purchased multivitamins for your family. It is one of the easiest ways to help ensure we’re getting what we need, especially when making changes in our diet. My son likes the gummi vitamins. I just wish that they made them for adults!
