Welcome spring and the wasps or bugs with the TrapStik #Review

Welcome spring and the wasps or bugs with the TrapStik #Review

Last summer I introduced you to a unique company called “Rescue”. The products and the company are so unique and I just love all their products. Living in Florida we have lots of different bugs that stay all year long. This past weekend, while I heard people talk about upcoming snowstorms up north, I was able to open my windows and doors and enjoy the great outdoors. It was beautiful in Florida, until…. My daughter said “Mom… something is flying in the house”. I looked and thought it was a Mud Daubers and quickly hushed it outside. Not thinking of anything, I went about my day; ten minutes later out of the corner of my eye I saw a shadow. Couldn’t be another Mud Dauber, did he come back?

I couldn’t see him, so I kept working on the computer and all the sudden I looked up and two Wasps, YES… Wasps flew around my office. Really? It’s not time yet, it is first of March and I have wasps all over? I quickly ran and closed the door and as I looked out I saw a bunch more wasps. It must be spring time in Florida. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

I vaguely remembered a box that arrived the other day, which I though was way too early for, but my friends over at Rescue must have known that I was in dyer need of their TrapStik for Wasps. I opened the box and was fully prepared to add the natural attractant that the last trap that I tried had but to my surprise it was all assembled and all I had to do was remove the protective plastic wrap. The glue was already on the trap and within 2 minutes I had the trap hanging on my back porch.

I was excited that I was able to to put out my Wasps trap right away and hope we will catch the queen and be able to enjoy a Wasp free summer. The TrapStik was quit the attraction for our Wasps, I have yet to see one attach to the trap, but we had a good 15 (that’s what I could count) show up and sit around checking it out. It was surreal. It’s almost like they know what it is and they are waiting for the first one to fall into the trap so they can see what will happen. The attraction didn’t take long at all, I hope we will be able to catch lots of Wasps.

This Rescue TrapStik for Wasps  uses VisiLure technology, with colors and patterns proven to lure paper wasps, it also catches carpenter bees and mud daubers. it will catch queens and workers from spring through fall and can be placed near a nest to reduce populations, making it safer to spray, this is odor free and pesticide free and water resistant. Best part besides being pesticide free it is made in the USA!

Oh, I am so jealous of your grass! I live in Maine, and all I see when I look out the window right now is a pile of snow covering my back yard. So sad 🙁 We get all kinds of bugs here in the spring and summer, though. Mosquitos and blackflies are crazy here, and I’ve also had big problems with stinkbugs! Ewww. We had a nest of wasps living under our front steps last summer. This sure would have come in handy!

I hate wasps. We have problems with them every summer. A few years ago, one got into the house and was in my spice cabinet. When I reached in to get a spice, it got me between the fingers. Eeks!

(And if your ground is super green like that right now, I hate you. Ours is perpetually white right now and I’m tired of it.) 🙂

So, so jealous of all the green there. We’re a long way off from this kind of weather but I’ll be looking for this when it does get here. Wasps are pests.

I am so ready for spring but so not ready for the bugs and wasps. We live in a state park so we get a ton of them everywhere. I like the look of this bug trap and will have to try it.
