Fall arrived and I love the smell of apple pie, fresh clean fall air and anything that comes along with fall. Living in Florida, fall is not really what you would expect, it’s still in the 80’s and sunny, but finally it’s cooler for our standards and I love it.
As soon as the first “fall” air arrives I open my windows and start dreaming up recipes that are perfect for fall. Growing up in Germany fall was always a fun season, lots of celebrations, lots of festivals and lots of food. Apple Strudel comes to mind first when I think of fall.
We all know, a real authentic German apple strudel takes time, lots of work and lots of love, which I have (besides the time and the patience), so this fall I wanted to share a little shortcut how I dish up my semi homemade Apple Strudel pie. It’s easy, fast and so delicious, everyone will love it.
As every week I got all my groceries at Walmart and it was super easy to grab all my ingredients for the Semi Homemade Apple Strudel Pie, it’s a one stop shopping. I got my Apples, my Walnuts, the Dannon Light & Fit® Carmel Apple Pie Yogurt, Keebler® Ready Crust® Mini Pie Crusts as well as the Reddi-wip® along with a few other things I needed for the weekly meal planning.
This is such an easy dessert and thanks to a few shortcuts I was able to pull it off in about 15 minutes, with fresh apple pie filling, too. This recipe will make 6 mini Apple Strudel Pie’s.
Now wasn’t this easy? I love the Apple Strudel filling, always brings back memories and the smell stays in the house for a long time. The nuts give it a great texture, if you aren’t fond of Walnuts feel free to substitute Hazelnuts or Almonds, I would stay away from peanuts, but that’s just me.
The mini Apple Strudel Pies were so good that my family didn’t even wait to eat them till they cooled, after all Apple Strudel is the best if it’s still warm. YUMM!
Now you can make your very own Apple Strudel filling without the extra work of spending hours preparing the dough, still add lots of love and don’t tell anyone that you didn’t slave for hours to prepare this delicate dessert. Just enjoy the moment with you family.
Remember, these are MINI pies after all. I love that I can serve everyone their very own pie and make everyone feel special. Create memories that will last a lifetime.
