Wits & Wagers Family Game Review

November 30, 2010 By Melanie Roberts 2 Comments

We love to play games in our house and try to have a game night every Friday night. We always let the kids choose what game and last game night they wanted to play Wits & Wagers Family. Have you seen this game yet?? It’s pretty cool.

This party game is published by North Star Games and can be purchased on Amazon.com or any of your local retailers like Walmart, Target or Toys’R’Us; This game retails for $19.99.

What is this game all about ?

It is a fun Family game that can be played with 3-10 players and is recommended age 8 and up.

Each player gets to choose a color “Meeple”( this are the little game pieces ) and one player will read  one of the 300 questions like “Not Including the joysticks, how many buttons are there on a PlayStation 2 controller??” or “how many large white stitches are on an NFL football??”

  1. Every player now gets to write down a number with their guess on their Answer Board.
  2. Each Answer Board will be placed on the table and sorted from smallest to biggest number
  3. Once all the Answer Boards are sorted on the table, each player now can choose an answer they like best out of all the answers on the table and add one of their two Meeples.
  4. After all the Meeples have been placed, flip over the question card and read the answer. The winning guess is closest to the correct answer without going over !!!

At first it is a bit hard to answer all the questions, I mean after all how many people really know “In feet, what is the longest recorded length for a dinosaur?”

But the fun thing is you learn, the kids get so much knowledge out of every day questions. That’s the cool part. Do they need to know how many holes are in a Wiffle ball…?? probly not but it builds knowledge and is fun.

My Tween and teen are crazy over this game and have been bagging almost every spare minute to play this. Even my husband and I enjoy sitting down laughing and seeing who has the right number or who’s guess was just wayyy off the wall.

This game would make a great edition to any family fun night, party night with friends…. We also played it Thanksgiving with the family and it was a hit and a lot of laughs…So check this Wits $ Wagers Family game out and bring it along your Christmas travels. This also would make a great present for any Tween or ten in your family; they will get countless of hours of fun out of this and the best part… it doesn’t require any batteries !!!!

What a fun game, check it out when you get a chance on Facebook or Twitter

Melanie! Great review! Thanks for doing it. I just wanted to clarify one thing for the readers. Wits & Wagers Family can be bought online at Wal-Mart, Target and Toys-r-Us, but not at the physical stores. I can be bought at Borders and Barnes & Noble however.

Of course, it can be bought at local toy and game stores.

Hope you and your readers have a great holiday season!

    Cheers,

I like off the wall trivia so this sounds like a lot of fun.
