Decorating our Christmas Tree with #KmartHoliday

We always have a big Christmas tree in the living room; each year we put up the same red and gold ornaments; for some reason I’m always stuck with that color; however, this year we had to change our plans. We ran out of room in the living room and there was no place to put our big tree. We decided to buy a slim small tree and put it in the living room; at first I was fine, but I missed my big tree…..:0(. Even the kids said, it’s pretty, but it’s not our tree.

I had a spot left in our office to put up our big tree, but used most of the ornaments on the tree in the living room, so I just tried to be happy with what we had.

Hubby noticed that this wasn’t 100% what I wanted and I wasn’t all happy about it and kept talking about my big tree; so he surprised me as an early birthday present and told me to buy some new ornaments and put the big tree in the office; my budget was $100. I was super excited and couldn’t wait to start shopping.

I’ve heard that Kmart had an amazing selection and our Kmart recently opened it’s doors, so off to Kmart I went. I wasn’t too sure on what to expect as far as ornaments, colors or even if my budget would me get everything I needed to decorate my tree; after all I had nothing, no lights, no glitter… nothing.

Once I arrived at Kmart, to my surprise they had a HUGE, I mean, HUGE holiday selection; there must have been 11+ isles of just Christmas decoration, lights, tree skirts, ornaments and anything imaginable, I had never seen that kind of selection, even Walmart or Target couldn’t compete; I actually placed 4 different collections for my Tree into the cart before I finally decided on Green and red… they all were soo pretty and glittery and just awesome.. the best part, they were affordable!! A box of 28 ornaments was $5.99!! a tree skirt, you know, the thick heavy ones was $14.99…. lights were $4 a pack… boy, I had no idea that Kmart was this amazing!

Finally after  an hour of looking, starring and just drooling, I was done and had everything in my cart; I ended up paying a tiny bit over budget $122 but I got the kids some candy and I also got a $5 gift card back for spending more than $50 at Kmart.. I was totally surprised… I did save $77!! I still can’t get over that ALL this was in my budget and I can decorate my entire tree for $120 ( well, if you leave the elf out I’m in budget, but he was so darn cute and I just had to have him next to my tree)…..

So, if you are still in need of some Christmas decoration, run over to Kmart and check out what you can get for your budget… I’m off to decorate my tree.. come back in a few days and I will show you our finished tree…..You can go and check out my Google Plus Story with lots of pictures from our Kmart store and decorations.

Nice work! I was out shopping tonight and notices most of the stores are starting to get picked over a bit, so glad you found a well stocked one!

Great post. The Kmart near me doesn’t have that big of a selection. Can’t wait to see what your tree looks like.

Isn’t it amazing how many things Kmart had to choose from? Even in my store, which is located in Center City Philadelphia, I had a TON of options. Can’t wait to see your tree!
