Knorr Arrived in the USA with a Yummy Recipe idea #NewKnorrStock

September 16, 2011 By Melanie Roberts 5 Comments

Knorr

I can not even tell you, how excited I’m to introduce you to a company that I have trusted in Germany for many, many years. I grew up with their wonderful soups, dinners and gravy packs and miss them dearly since I moved to the US. Thanks to my family in Germany and some nice care packages, I can still enjoy my beloved Knorr products.

The other day, I was contacted by Collective Bias a group that I’m part of in promoting companies and their ideas and they wanted to know if I would like to be part of a brand new Knorr campaign for their new Homestyle Stock.  What do you think… ?? I was overjoyed to hear that they introduce their new Homestyle Stock in the US along with other yummy products. I had to get my hand on those and check them out.

I went to Knorr.com and checked out the product and found a bunch of great recipes that I can use the Homestyle Stock on; which honestly didn’t surprise me. Knorr always introduced their products with a lot of wonderful recipes that go well with the product. I’m still super excited that Knorr is touching ground here in the US. Whohoooo

The nice thing about the Knorr.com website is that you can search recipes by product type as well as ingredients like chicken or beef. We decided on a recipe that sounded yummy and so familiar , called Chicken Masala. We all know, Chicken Masala is yummy, but sometimes a hassle to make; Knorr.com has a prep time of 15 minutes along with a 15 cook time; so dinner in under 30 minutes… we were up for the challenge.

Off to Wal-Mart we went to buy the ingredients in the recipe, which I must admit weren’t many at all. Of course, this gal never leaves the house without a coupon, Sunday Coupon inserts had a nice $2.00 Off the brand new Knorr homestyle Stock, I made sure I grabbed that and it came in handy and made for a nice deal.

While I was at Walmart, I couldn’t believe all the Knorr products on the shelf, I was floored, I had no idea that so many Knorr products had invaded Wal-mart over the last few month. I’m super excited. Maybe I can ask my mom to send other products now instead of Knorr in my Care packages :0)

Once we finished our Aww’s and ohhh’s .. we went home quickly to prepare our yummy Chicken Masala. This is what you need for the recipe.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup dry Marsala wine
1-1/2 cups water
1 tub Knorr® Homestyle Stock – Chicken
2 tsp. cornstarch *we only had Potato Starch*
4 thin sliced boneless, skinless chicken breasts
3 Tbsp. olive oil, divided
10 ounces sliced assorted wild mushrooms *We used regular Mushrooms*
1 small sweet onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped

PREPARATION

  1. Reduce Marsala wine in large skillet until syrupy consistency. Stir in water and Knorr® Homestyle Stock – Chicken and bring to a boil. Whisk in cornstarch blended with 1/4 cup water until smooth and slightly thickened.
  2. Rub chicken with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Grill in hot grill pan, turning once, until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Remove chicken from grill pan; keep warm.
  3. Heat remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in another skillet and cook mushrooms until tender and starting to brown. Add onion and garlic and cook until tender.
  4. To serve, slice chicken into halves. Arrange 1/2 of the mushrooms on serving platter, then top with chicken and remaining mushrooms. Pour sauce over and sprinkle, if desired, with chopped fresh parsley.

OMG.. the Knorr Homestyle Chicken Stock was amazing; I loved the flavor, just like I was used to from home. Perfect touch for this dish or any other dish you would like to add some flavor. The dish was super quick prepared and tasted amazing. My Teen, who is a very picky eater loved it. Yes, he moved the Mushrooms out of the way, but he ate everything else and then bragged about it to his friends. We served the Chicken with colored Noodles for fun, but you can dish it up with Rice or even Mashed Potatoes.

The new Knorr Homstyle Stock will defiantly be a permanent part of my pantry, I’m beyond excited. I love to use the Knorr Stock and made vegetable soup with just potato’s, leak and carrots… the entire family loved it. That is one thing I wish Knorr USA would offer more, vegetable Stock. So far I can find Beef and Chicken but very little vegetable stock. I love the flavor of the vegetable stock so much better, but until then.. the chicken stock is my keeper and I’m using it in many dishes. Hubby cooked Clam Chowder the other day and he lacked some flavor, yup he added the chicken stock from Knorr and it was amazing…. just perfectly seasoned and yummy.

Should I go on, on how much I love the flavor? By now you probly are ready to run to the store and grab your own package of Knorr Homestyle Stock, so I won’t hold you… run.. run… run and come back and tell us how you liked it and if it is as good as I’m bragging about? Would love to hear your thoughts.
