Listerine Review

April 22, 2011 By Melanie Roberts 3 Comments

I’m big on dental hygiene for both me and the kids; now that the boys are getting older I have been buying them the Listerine Cool Mint. However I always heard them complain that it burns, and I know it does. I don’t like it, but so many things in life we don’t like, we just have to get through it. Eventually I was hoping that they would get use dit, but they didn’t. Till I found out that Listerine now has a Zero Alcohol making it less intense. I was all over that.. We had to give it a try and see if this will still do the same job to kill millions of germs that cause bad breath on contact.

I did a little research and this is what I found about the Zero Alcohol Listerine:

  • New LISTERINE® ZERO™ Mouthwash The Less Intense, Zero Alcohol formula cleans deep to kill millions of bad breath germs for a cleaner, fresher mouth!Less intense Clean Mint flavor and unique alcohol-free formula
  • No other alcohol-free mouthwash has been proven more effective at killing bad breath germs
  • Contains signature 4 Essential Oils found in LISTERINE® Antiseptic for bad breath protection
  • From the #1 Dentist recommended OTC Mouthwash Brand

Some info about the  ISTERINE® Antiseptic:

  • Was shown in a clinical study to reduce 52% more plaque and 21% more gingivitis than brushing and flossing alone.
  • Is the only nationally branded antimicrobial mouthwash to receive the ADA Seal of Acceptance for fighting plaque and gingivitis.
  • Has over 100 years of safe use and 50 years of research, making it the most widely used and extensively researched mouthwash in
    the U.S.
  • “The ADA Council on Scientific Affairs’ Acceptance of Listerine Antiseptic is based on its finding that the product is effective in helping to prevent and reduce gingivitis and plaque above the gumline, when used as directed.”

We gave the New Listerine Zero a “whrrl” and the Tween and Teen both loved it, they have been using it for over 2 weeks now, and not once do I have to remind them to use mouthwash after they brush their tooth. They have not complaint, they told me that this is cool. They are finally happy with a product and this Listerine Zero defiantly makes it easier for them and less a chore.

I was excited to hear that my boys are that pleased with it, I had to try for myself. I gave it a whirl and LOVED it. No burning, no stinging, no watery eyes, yet I still have that clean and fresh feeling. Love it. This Listerine Zero is defiantly a keeper. We will defiantly switch from the Listerine Cool Mint to the Listerine Zero; there is nothing wrong with the Listerine Cool Mint, we used ot for a long time now, but we really liked the Zero a lot better.

You should grab a bottle on your next shopping trip and see which one you liked best. You can purchase the Listerine Cool Mint and Listerine Zero at any of your local grocery stores, Drug stores or any other place that sells your dental needs.
