Movie Review – Scooby Doo The Movie & Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed

November 21, 2010 By Melanie Roberts 17 Comments

We Love movie nights at our house and I try to have a movie night at least once a week.  So why not incorporate that into my Blog. Let’s grab a soda and a bowl of Popcorn and enjoy…

Feature Movie this week is

Family Double Feature Scooby Doo 1 & 2 Collection for Blue-ray

Own it on Blue-Ray

Laughs and scares aplenty are unleashed in these two popular live-action/computer-animation romps featuring Fred (Freddie Prinze Jr.), Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Shaggy (Matthew Lillard), Velma (Linda Cardellini) and that canine you-know-doo. The Mystery Inc. gang reunites in Scooby-Doo to find out what’s behind the jinky-jittery goings-on at Spooky Island, the Spring Break hot spot run by Emile Mondavarious (Rowan Atkinson).

Scooby-Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed finds our heroes with their hands and paws full trying to find out why Coolsville is overrun with monsters the pals thought they’d defeated years earlier…but now the beastly beings are b-a-a-ack. Doo the fright thing, Scooby-Doo fans, and enjoy!

We love Scooby in our House… so this was an awesome movie to watch and I didn’t even fall asleep half way through like most movies. My kids were impressed with me. We had a wonderful family evening laughing at all the funny parts in the movie and I loved the animation, it was so sharp and crisp on the Blue-Ray.

My husband didn’t think he would notice a difference between Blue-Ray and regular DVD, we are not big High tech people, as long as the DVD player was working fine we didn’t even care. But we were offered the chance of a few Blue-Ray DVD’s and decided to order a fairly cheap model and it was amazing, this movie on Blue-Ray is awesome. We loved the picture quality and the sound was amazing even with our cheap entertainment system.

We all know Scooby Doo and I know you will not be disappointing in this Collection, I think it is a must have in every Blue-Ray Collection. The price is actually very reasonable, too Amazon.com currently has this movie for $22.49 ( that is for both Blue Ray’s) or it can be purchased through any local retailer that sells DVD’s or Blue-Ray.

Scooby Do The Movie & Scooby Doo2: Monsters Unleashed was released  on Blue-ray November 9 and you can find additional information HERE

I grew up watching the cartoon series and absolutely loved them. Unfortunately the two live action movies I found to be so dumb and over the top. I guess for me the cartoon just doesn’t translate to real life.

I feel that any Scooby Doo Movie is good for any age & never looses it’s enjoyment to watch, true classics from our yester years days. I hand paint & when my grandson was smaller & in pre school ,he wanted me to paint Scooby Doo on his jean legs one year for Halloween at the school party, it was so cute for picture taking memories 🙂 great review, thanks
