Here we are just a few weeks into the New Year and I decided on another New years resolution; since I decided to make a few changes around the house, why not start changing the dogs as well?
Our dogs can listen one day and be totally in their own little world the next, so this has to stop, they need to get some doggie training and what better way to make them do what you want then with lots of treats, right?
So I grabbed the Tween the other day and we headed off to Walmart to see if we can find some healthy treats that would help us train our dogs. I’m excited, if the dogs are….. not sure yet? I do know they love lots of treats!
We always go to Walmart first thing in the morning before all the “crazy” people get there; not sure why, but our Walmart is always jam packed full, no parking space and lines out the door, almost like they are giving away something for free. So, first thing in the AM like no later than 8AM it is. The Teen also needs to get a hair cut, he got in trouble in school for having his hair too long. What do you think, did it really look that bad? Anyways, since Walmart also has a Salon, I put him in a chair and got him a nice short hair cut along the way.
Okay, the Tween is back up to code and won’t get in trouble in school next week, so lets find some treats to make the dogs mind as well; Walmart has a HUGE dog treat section, I had no idea.
I grabbed a few coupons on the way out the door and was looking for some all time favorite Milk-Bone® Treats, some Pup-Peroni and maybe some chicken jerky, not sure yet. Let’s check out the selection and then decide. I kind of love how easy everything is to find at Walmart and love all the colorful packaging.
I also found coupons, yup…. we love coupons; there was an AWESOME coupon attached to a box of Milk-Bone® for $2 off, if you buy the Milk-Bone® box and a Pup-Peroni or Milo’s Kitchen dog snacks; how cool was that. I was looking for treats anyways; awesome!!
While I was looking around I also found the Milo’s Kitchen products; I had never heard or seen them, but as soon as I saw they have chicken jerky, I knew I had to grab a bag for my pups; they LOVE chicken jerky; I bet they would do backflips if I hand them one! The bag also had a $2 off coupon attached; score… what an awesome deal!!
What a hard decision, so we grabbed two boxes of Milk-Bone® , 2 packs of Pup-Peroni treats and one big bag of Chicken Jerky from Milo’s Kitchen; I know, I spoil them too much. But isn’t that what Mom’s do best?
We also checked out the clearance section; all Christmas was 75% off!! Our Walmart had a ton of stuff left, so we also grabbed a few items while I was there for next year; lots of Toys on Clearance as well!! I can honestly say this time was a wonderful shopping trip. I was able to get some meat, drinks and a few other items and had lots of time to find new products and checkout was a breeze. I couldn’t believe that at 9 AM on a Saturday morning there was every register open and no one in line. Was I dreaming? Am I at the wrong Walmart? I hurried to a register that had no one there and checked out in less than 5 minutes. That’s a record for our Walmart… AWESOME!!
If you have been around my blog for a while, you know I’m not a big fan of Walmart; however I do have to admit, this shopping trip was wonderful, friendly people (I know.. must be a fluke or I may have looked funny, that made them smile??), product variety and price was just AWESOME. I went home with 6 bags and about 5 meats for dinner and spend less than $50!!
I was really super happy over the prices being so family friendly nowadays. I may have to change my outlook on Walmart and go more often; as long as I get there before the crowed….lol…
But all kidding aside, it was a great trip and I think credit is due for a lot of changes Walmart has implemented over the last few month. I think it’s in the right directions. So, I’m all done rambling about how excited I was shopping at Walmart today; grab your coupons and check out your Walmart and I take my dog treats and start training my pups… meet you here again in a few days. I’ll tell you how well my pups did with the new treats and you can tell me how your Walmart experience was. See ya……
Happy Shopping…..
P.s. I also created a Google Plus story with lots more pictures on our shopping trip and the pups… be sure to check it out
