By now you have read my Coupon Class for a few weeks and probly don’t remember all the tips and tricks from the prior weeks, so I decided to make a list of 10 things that will be handy for you to print out or bookmark that will make your savings at the store successful.
- Buy your Sunday Newspaper: This is the BIGGEST thing to get started. Buy 1 for each family member and make sure to have an even number, if you have 3 people in your family, buy 4 papers to get you started. This will get you the best savings.
- Print Online coupons: remember to use Google as your friend for any coupon you may need, Google it if it’s out there, you will find a printable. Visit the manufactures website and print coupons there as well as coupons.com, redplum.com and smartsource.com
- Collect coupons, anywhere you go there will be coupons, grab them, save them, hold on to them till a sale comes around and you will be able to save more.
- Store your coupons: Depending on your time or space and what level of couponing you like store your coupons, you can check out my Binder method here or my Desk method HERE, but you need to get your coupons organized as good as you can.
- Make a Grocery list with the current ad prior to the sale if possible and buy as much as you can with the coupons that you have on hand
- Make a Meal Plan around the sale or your stockpile item, don’t plan your shopping trip around your Meal plan, plan the meal Plan around the sales and what’s on hand, your savings will roll right in.
- Start stockpiling; if an item is on sale buy as much as you can and build up a stockpile, why pay more for the same item next week if it was FREE this week??
- Don’t be brand loyal, your savings will be higher and you will get to try new products for Free most of the time, you can always go back to your “brand” if the new product didn’t turn out the way you wanted, but you got it for FREE so you didn’t loose anything.
- Don’t just buy at one store, your drugstores usually will have the BEST price for toiletries items, OTC medication take advantage of the deals and leave the grocery deals up to the grocery store. I’m not saying you should run into CVS on a daily basis, once a week or whenever a deal that you see is something you like, go there rather than buy Deodorant at your grocery store for 3 times as much.
- Get Rain Checks; if the store is out of the item or even just the “flavor” you were looking for, ask for a rain check. Unless the sales states “No rain check” every store will be able to give you a rain check, looking in the sales price for a future purchase; saving you gas and time and it’s hassle free, just pick up the item at your next shopping trip, and especially if it’s a rain check for a BOGO ( Buy One Get One Free item) if the next week is a sale for $2 off the item rather than BOGO, your rain check will let you buy the item for the new sales price and BOGO.. saving you even more $$$$.
These are just 10 tips of getting you started and get you to maximize your coupons savings, for more tips and ideas check back every Sunday for my Sunday Coupon class, you never know what you will learn about the amazing world of savings and coupons…
