Hi 2Boys+1Girl=OneCrazyMom readers, Teen here and I thought I’d do a  review and host a giveaway for you guys….

If you know, us Americans throw away more than 1,460 pounds of trash per person per year and to think that’s just one person, now think around 300 million people times 1460 pounds equal around 4,380,000,000 pounds a day and that’s low end estimates there are more people in America and more than 6 billion in the world.  The United States produces more than 25% of all trash in the world. We recycle only 2% or less of our trash, that’s pathetic!

I found a great company called  TerraCycle and they are on the right track with “upcycling” it not only reduces waste but reuses things we have used previously and turns them  into objects that we could use for days to come.

I’ve been looking for portable speakers for a while, when I’m with my friends or outside practicing soccer skills, I need speakers that are easy to move around unlike other speakers that are big, bulky and need to be plugged in or run on  batteries.

TerraCycle has a cool product that is made from “Upcycle” candy packaging. These Eco Nation TerraCycle Speakers are  really cool they are made of foldable cardboard which are made from “upcycled” snack wrappers and chip bags, these speakers do not run on batteries which makes them even more green, which I found very useful, instead of constantly changing batteries and throwing them away every few hours and when you want to pack them away you can just unfold them, then refold. They get very loud and clear enough you can understand what is being sung.

Altogether this is a great product which could be given as a gift to anyone who listens to music or for yourself  and is very cheap compared to others, the speakers retail for $13.99.

Sustainability is a vital ingredient in the effort to preserve our planet. That’s why TerraCycle brings you a line of speakers and other accessories made possible by “upcycling.” Upcycling is a process that transforms materials that would otherwise go to waste into usable products. These foldable cardboard speakers are universally compatible and run on your device’s power supply. These speakers are packed and shipped flat to reduce pollution. Assembly is required.

My kids and I are notorious for leaving our keys and phones in different places in our house. The telephone stand would be a perfect piece of furniture for this type of storage!

The follow us bar to the right of my screen obscures text. A dumb place to put this annoying bar which i can’t opt out of.
