We love cookbooks in our house and Gooseberry patch is the first company that both hubby and I can’t get enough off. All the other books we like maybe one or two recipes and yes, they are great, but we haven’t really found anything that the both of us like.
When the 101 Easy Everyday Recipes book arrived we couldn’t get our hands on it fast enough. We actually fought over who gets to check it out first; that was a first in our house.
This brand new 101 Easy Everyday Recipes book is full with 101 super easy recipes that are shown with pictures on each page and what actual readers across the nation had to say about the recipe. I loved it. I love pictures in my cookbooks but this book is just amazing.
I almost feel like I found a Grandmother’s Treasure with recipes that are handed down by generations and then put into a wonderful spiral bound book that shouldn’t be missed in any kitchen.
This book is colorful illustrated with great pictures and easy to follow directions. The book is divided into categories like :
No-Fuss Desserts
We decided to make something simple the other day and choose the Sunday Meatball Skillet.
| Sunday Meatballs Skillet |
- 3/4 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. onion, grated
- 1/2 c. Italian-flavored dry bread crumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 c. catsup
- 1/4 t. pepper
- 2c. beef broth
- 1/4c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 8oz. pkg medium egg noodles, cooked
- In a bowl, combine beef, onion, bread crumbs, egg, catsup and pepper.
- Shape into one-inch meatballs.
- Spray a skillet with non-stick vegetable spray.
- Cook meatballs over medium heat, turning occasionally until browned, about 10 minutes
- Remove meatballs and let drain on paper towels.
- In a bowl, whisk together broth and flour; add to skillet.
- Cook and stir until mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in sour cream.
- Add meatballs and noodles; toss to coat
- Cook and stir until heated through, about 5 minutes.
- Garnish with parsley – optional
As you can see, the recipe is easy to follow and can be even adapted in a snap with “pre” made products if you need to. We have since enjoyed at least five other recipes like the Poor Man’s Steak and Vegetables or the Egg and Bacon Quesadillas and loved every one of them.
The Dessert Section shouldn’t be left out either, the Easy Apple Popovers by far were my favorite and they were gone so fast that I couldn’t even catch a picture :0(.

I can honestly say we love this 101 Easy Everyday Recipes book; best part is you can get a bunch of FREE recipes through Gooseberry Patch.com; I was actually amazed at how many FREE recipes they offer out of each book. You can also follow Gooseberry patch on twitter, Facebook, their Blog or check out all the books, recipes and ideas on their Website. By far they are amazing and a wonderful resource in any kitchen.
I received the book for my honest review; all opinions are 100% my own and yours may vary. No other compensation was nor will be received.
