Stay Safe while driving …

February 18, 2011 By Melanie Roberts 2 Comments

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Evie. All opinions are 100% mine.

Nowadays everyone has a cell phone, and now with Verizon offering the iPhone, more families then ever will get an iPhone. iPhones are super cool and just about every Teen wants one, but how safe will your teen be in traffic? I’m very concerned for my teen to hit the road on his own in  a few month and I won’t have any control over him talking on the phone or playing with the phone. Sure I can tell him “don’t do it or else”… but honestly, how can you monitor him/ her? You have to trust your kids… so I did a little research and found a cool app for the iPhone called Evie .

The Evie iPhone app will let you do a lot of cool things, like

  • Say the name of anyone in your contact list and it will recognize your voice and call that person, or even just say the number you like to call and your phone will dial it.
  • play your favorite song on the iPhone by just saying the name of the song, artist or your favorite audio book and it will automatically play.
  • If you need to find the next gas station, Fast food restaurant or the girlfriends house ( smile), just ask the phone and it will bring up your directions and let you know where to go… no need to get an GPA
  • This Evie App will also read out loud your Facebook feeds while you are on the go, you will never miss a thing.

Now doesn’t that sound a lot safer and put your mind a little at ease with your Teen on the road? I know you can’t prevent it but you can make your Teen drive a lot safer with this Evie app for his/ her iPhone. To be honest I want this Evie app for my phone, too.

I’m always on the go and this would make things so much safer and easier on the road. So give it a try next time you or your Teen will hit the road and install the Evie app, I would love to hear what you think and if you liked it.

Do you think this is a safer alternative to texting while driving? I absolutely think so, texting while driving is a BIG nono in our house and this would be a wonderful tool to encourage my teen NOT to text while driving if he needs to use his phone in the car, would be wonderful for mom, dad anyone really.

So check out Evie in the APP store and I would love to hear what you think about this new App.

That is a great idea. Here in the UK you can answer the phone if it doesn’t involve touching it – I have a button on my car wheel which connects to a bluetooth speaker in the car. It is illegal to touch the phone to dial a call. My phone also has voice recognition, so I am able to touch the phone button on the wheel, say the name of the person I want to call, and the number will be dialled. All legal and safe – I don’t need to take my eyes off the road!

I know Europe ( being from germany) has a lot more stricter rules on cell phones and driving, I wish the US would have more rules in place and I know some cars have options like yours but not all phone work for that.. thanks for letting me know.. that is great…. everyone needs to stay safe… Have a great day
