Have you seen Moon Dough yet? I have to say, this is the first time my kids actually used it. I’ve hear about it and seen it on TV but wasn’t sure if my kids are too old or not old enough. When I was asked to review it with all three of my age groups, I gladly accepted. I read a bunch of reviews before I let my kids play with it. Some people said its fun, kind of playing with marshmallows, other people said it smelled and then others said it was a mess. So I wanted to see for myself, what this Moon Dough is and what we can do with it.

You can see on my pictures I was prepared with newspapers and all. I was worried to have this HUGE mess on my hand like all the other reviews I read about had described. But you know all fun things are messy, that’s just how it goes. The other day I called my Tween, teen and the toddler into the kitchen and handed them a box, everyone said “WOW”.. but no one knew what it was. We had never seen Moon Dough before. We love play-doh in the house, and the kids, even the Teen will still sit down and play with play-doh, so I knew he would sit down with the younger ones and give it a try.
Check out the video, you think the Teen or the Toddler had more fun???
As you can see in the video, we have little to no mess, and the kids did it all on their own, I don’t know what other reviewers had issues with, but we had very little “mess” problems. Well, we did have a few pieces here and there that ended up on the floor, which was to be expected, we had a toddler in the mix, however the nice thing, since this Moon Dough doesn’t “stick” we had no dog hair attached to the pieces that fell to the floor…. And the few tiny pieces that I missed on the floor were vacuumed up in a jiffy and all was clean. I really had no problem with cleanup and mess at all.. To me that was a big worry at first and turned out to be a great experience.

On to let you know what Moon Dough is, we are super excited and I know this won’t be the last set we have in the house. Moon Dough is an amazing molding compound unlike anything you have ever seen before. It is soft and marshmallow-like, cleans up easily, and never dries out so you can use it again and again, it doesn’t stick to anything other than itself. It is almost like cotton candy, but without the sticky feeling.. It’s super cool. My kids said it smelled like crayons, after I asked them to “smell test” it for me, I saw reviews that stated the Moon Dough “Stinks really bad” and so they both, the Tween and the Teen agreed it smelled like crayons, but wasn’t strong at all and the boys didn’t seem to be bothered by it at all either.

I loved the fact that it will NEVER dry out…. So now my Toddler can sneak into her room and play with it and hide it, like she does with Play-doh when mommy tells her not to, and once I find it, it won’t be a los like all the other play-doh, since regular play-doh will dry out within hours. I just love it. I’m totally hooked on it and even I spend hours molding it. It’s amazing to see how you can mold things and it will stay that way until you mold something else…amazing.
