As the days get longer and hotter, it’s always a chore to stand in the kitchen and create a delicious dinner for your family. This isn’t any different in my crazy house. My Family loves delicious chicken recipes and that had me thinking the other day when I was at Walmart and saw the Ready Cooked chicken from Tyson.

IMG_3747

I remembered when I was little, my mom would never cook warm meals for dinner during the summer, but one of my favorite dishes was her Greek Chicken Pita with veggies and Tzatziki. That immediately came to mind when I saw the Tyson pre-cooked Chicken. I knew it would be a simple, delicious and healthy dinner for the family and I wouldn’t have to slave for an hour on the hot stove cooking chicken and preparing a lavish meal.

I decided to share this super simple dinner idea and maybe you can start a Summer Dinner Tradition with your family as well. My motto is keep it simple, keep it cool but make it tasty.

This is what you need for Greek Chicken Pita with Tzatziki

#ad Dish up a Simple Greek Chicken Pita with Tzaziki for a Family Dinner Night #TysonMovieTicket #CollectiveBias

  • 1 package of Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken
  • 1 package of Pita bread
  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt
  • 2-3 gloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup feta cheese
  • lettuce
  • tomatoes
  • cucumbers, shredded
  • salt & pepper to taste

Make your Tzatziki

  • Shred the cucumber, salt and set aside so most of the liquid can drain, leave it for 10-15 minutes in a strainer or some sort of bowl, where the liquid can drain.
  • Once all the liquid is drained, add your Greek yogurt, garlic (lots of garlic), salt, pepper and mix it all up.
  • Voila, you just made your very own Tzatziki …. Let it sit and all the flavors melt for a little bit before you serve it.

Now assemble your pita with all your favorite ingredients. The Tyson Grilled and Ready chicken can be heated in the microwave in a few minutes and is ready to go; add all your veggies to your pita, the chicken, the feta cheese and top it off with your Tzatziki.

This is one of our favorite dinners that are simple and affordable and delicious. I love when I can share some childhood memories with my family and hope your family will enjoy it, too.

If you want to make it a dinner and a movie, be sure to check out the specially marked Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken packages, at your local Walmart, they have a #TysonMovieTicket offer for the movie Blended, which will hit Theaters May 23rd. How fun would that be to dish up a cheap, delicious and fun dinner at home and then take hubby out for a great movie with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.  #CollectiveBias

I can’t say I’ve ever heard of this recipe before but it sounds quite interesting to try! My family will agree that when it’s hot and humid the last thing you want is a hot meal, so we enjoy things like chicken salad on those warmer days 🙂

Thank you for sharing this great recipe!

I want to try this. Greek food is my absolute favorite. LOL – I had a job interview once and they asked my favorite type of food to take me out to lunch. When I said Mediterranean, they said that I was the first person to say that and it took them a while to find a place. ( I didn’t think that it was that uncommon! )
