Apple Cider Doughnuts are a delicouse Fall treat

October 13, 2016 By Melanie Roberts 7 Comments

apple-cider-doughnuts-fallI love when I have an extra day off of work, it always gives me time with the Family. I try to use the time to it’s fullest potential and I always try to do my favorite thing, baking a sweet treat. A little housekeeping I may have affiliate links in this post, doesn’t hurt you but I may make a few pennies by clicking, just wanted you to know. Now, my favorite treat for the family has been homemade doughnuts and I’m kind of addicted since they are so easy to make. You can make any flavor and combination, they are just amazing. I’ll share my newest creation Apple Cider Doughnuts below.

My favorite little doughnut pan has been my steady companion for a few years now and thanks to my handy dandy pan I can whip up a quick batter, add some fruit, juice, flavor, or even nuts and create a different doughnut every time, baked not fried.

So while the kids were still sleeping I saw a bottle of Apple Cider in the fridge, the first one of the season, I figured why not make some Apple Cider Doughnuts for breakfast and in 15 minutes I had my first batch coming out of the oven, it was THAT easy!

Now, what ya think? Wasn’t this a great breakfast idea? Let me tell you, they aren’t just a great idea, they also tasted amazing! Each and every time i create a new doughnut version I feel like this one is the best one yet, so not to my surprise, I loved this one the best so far.

This was an awesome flavor combination, sweet and flavorful and they almost looked like apple fritters. Add a glass of milk and you got yourself something great for breakfast on the go. We truly enjoyed our treat once the kids got up and I loved having some leftovers that I served as a dessert for dinner and I added a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream and some fresh apples, YUMMY.

The possibilities are endless, you can create any flavor your family will enjoy, trust me, just give it a try and you will be addicted just like I’m. I actually have 3 of these doughnut pans so I can bake enough for everyone all at once. Totally worth having around, I use mine at least once a week.

Check out a few of my other favorite doughnuts that I’ve made already and some that I have on my bucket list to make in the weeks to come.

  • Pumpkin Doughnuts with Cream Cheese Frosting
  • Pumpkin Lebkuchen Doughnuts
  • Gluhwein Chocolate Doughnuts
  • Fruity Pebbles Breakfast Doughnuts
  • Coffee Cake Doughnuts
  • Raspberry & Vanilla Doughnut
  • Strawberry Buttermilk Doughnuts

Did I promise you too much? I’d love to hear your favorite flavor combination and how they turned out for your family, did they love them as much as we do? Did you get addicted to the doughnut pan as well? Leave me a comment, I can’t wait to hear all about it.

I also like pumpkin donuts especially at this time of year. I don’t get to make homemade donuts to often but on special occasions I make them.
