Are you still looking for Christmas activities to do with your little ones to pass the time till Santa arrives? How about this The Toymaker’s Christmas: Paper Toys You Can Make Yourself; the book was written and Illustrated by Marilyn Scott-Waters.

I would say this book would be great for 7 and up; my Tween had a wonderful time creating Christmas toys.

This book has eleven paper toys live inside the book and they are just waiting for your little one to put them together! A jolly snowman, a winter wonderland with moving pieces, a nutcracker with chomping jaw, and a beautiful Christmas Angel- all these and more are in the The Toymaker’s Christmas; making them is easy, just punch out the perforated  toy pieces, fold along the lines and glue the pieces together. You’ll create ornaments, toys and wonderful magical Christmas worlds.

This is just a great Toy making book during this time of the year. It doesn’t have any stories or ideas, but it has 11 great toys with instructions that you can build with your little one. This would be a great idea to make 12 days of Christmas and have your little one create one Toy each day and for the last day of Christmas ( since there are only 11 creations) you could have your little one showcase all at one time and maybe have him come up with another toy that he/ she can create all on their own, or color a picture of their favorite Toy they made… possibilities are endless.


This is a wonderful hands on book, that can be purchased through Amazon.com or any of your favorite Bookstores.   27. My littlest son is 3 and suffered a severe burn on his arm, wrist and hand in a campfire accident. The only toy he has ever really begged for is the Bigfoot Monster toy so after the year he had we saved up for the splurge.
