WOOOOWW… that’s all I can say about the Box Top 2011 University that took place June 17th, 2011 in Minnesota at the General Mills Headquarter.
General Mills invited me to spend the day with them at this event and I have so much to share and don’t know where to start.
I have never been to a Box Top University and honestly, I never really collected the Box Tops for any of the kids school. I had no idea how powerful these little “tickets” are and what they will do for our school.
I’m so thankful to General Mills for the opportunity to learn and to open my eyes. I guarantee you, not one box top will slip into our trash bin at the end of the day. This is just another awesome way to help the community and not spend any money out of your pocket.
Did you know that alone in the school year 2010-2011, Box Tops raised $59MILLION for schools? WOW, what an amazing number, I was floored when they announced the number at the Box Top University 2011. It is amazing what one little ticket can do for our schools.
We saw this video at the very beginning of the Event, it was amazing to hear and see it… BUT once the video was over… OMG… a REAL High School Band marched in.. it was AMAZING… I created a little video about the Marching band, of course the video won’t show how AMAZING the sound was and how cool it was, but I still hope it will show you some excitement about the Kick of for Box Top University 2011.
I also had no idea that there are over 240 (!!) brands participating. Did you know that?
Of course we all know the obvious, General Mills Cereal like Honey Nut Cheerios, Lucky Charms and then Hamburger helper, but did you know that Box Tops are also on other Products like Fresh Green Giant produce, Brita Filters and Boise Copy paper?
This is amazing, I had NO clue. I know a lot of you did not know as well, I received a lot of e-mails asking “Why” the Box Tops are not on more products, that we use. I have a Participating Products List with ALL the participating products and brands, make sure to check it out, you will be surprised to see who all is participating in the Box Top Program.
A few highlights that I took home from the Box Top University 2011:
The new brands participating in the Program are:
-
ALL Betty Crocker Products are now part of the BTFE Program!!!!
-
Fresh veggies from Green Giant are now also part of the BTFE program, AWESOME
-
Sunkist Gummies and Chex Mix will also joining the BTFE in a few weeks….!!!
-
Boise copy paper is also part of BTFE Program, so be sure to check your copy paper at the office and see who can get the Box Tops faster you or your co-worker
Isn’t that amazing? I’m sure most if not all the products that you purchase have a Box Top on them, clip it, save it and pass it on to your little ones school.
Do you Homeschool? Not a problem, Homeschoolers ARE allowed to participate in this program!!!! I will get into details in another post, check back in a few days.
Boy, that’s a ton of info already, stay tuned for the next Box Top post to come soon… would love to hear if you participate in the program, do you have questions? Your goals, how is your school doing.. type away, I’m super excited to be part of the Box Top Blogger Team and would love to hear all about how you like it!!!!
I have a bunch of posts about Box Top, be sure to check them ALL out
I was not asked to write this or any of the other Box Top Posts, I was provided with a Trip to the Box Top University, Courtesy of General Mills, all opinions are a 100% my own and no other compensation was received.
