I love fall and Halloween is another favorite “holiday” for me to create a few fun and #SpookySnacks for my Family. I probably mentioned that my family loves Fanta more than once on the blog. This time I couldn’t resist and make a cake that my mom always made for my Birthday and it was called… can you guess it? It’s none other than Fanta Kuchen (Fanta Cake). How simple is that? You will be surprised how quickly you can whip up a batch and bring it to any last minute Halloween party and have everyone raving about it for years to come.
I know many of my friends keep asking me to make this Fanta cake over and over, I just had to share it with all of you, and there is really no secret to it, other than using Fanta in the batter. Yes… I said Fanta in the batter. It’s delicious, bubbly and will give your cake an airy and fluffy texture. This time I decided to make it Gluten Free, you never know if someone has celiac issues and I thought it would be a fun treat for everyone to enjoy and trust me, no one will miss the gluten in it. Although, you can make it with regular flour, too. No worries.
I picked up all my ingredients for the Fanta Gluten Free cake with Sour Cream frosting at Walmart, including the Fanta. I also found the new smaller 12 ounce bottles of Dasani, they are perfect to hand out for your Trick or Treaters or to bring along for your party as a refreshing drink along with your Fanta Kuchen. I had to bring home a few, love the smaller Dasani size and I like to give the kids some water options during the day and the little bottles are just perfect for that.
My local Walmart had a fun sampling station with Fanta and Oreo snacks on Saturday. We love when we can sample some goodies during our shopping trips, did your Walmart have some fun samplings, too? My daughter was super excited when she saw that they are handing out Fanta and Oreo samples, totally filled her up with lots of energy that kept her shopping for hours. Okay, back to the cake. It’s so simple to make, check it out.
Now everyone at your party can enjoy their cake and no one has to feel guilty about it. I made some in glass jars for gifts to give to teachers at the fall festival and others we just put in cupcake forms, they all turned out amazing and everyone loved the unique flavor combinations and they “eyes” on all our cupcakes sure got a few giggles as well.
Have you ever made Fanta Kuchen or even heard of it before? The Sour Cream frosting is delicious as well, almost tastes like Crème Fresh and is very light and not think and heavy at all; totally a unique cake and flavor experience that I’m sure you and everyone will love.
From my German kitchen to yours, enjoy this Gluten Free Fanta Kuchen with Sour Cream Frosting for your next Halloween Party or anytime of the year.
What #SpookySnacks would you dish up for your next Halloween Party? Would it include Fanta? Would love to hear some of your ideas… Let’s share it…

These are to cute! I will have to try the Sour Cream Icing as it looks so light! It’s a great way to incorporate sour cream into treats as it always makes things light and moist with a little bit of a zing at the end.

I found the candy eyes in the cake decorating section at Walmart, they even had different sizes.. they are just too cute and the kids LOVE them.. beware don’t put them in the fridge with the eyes or even the teenagers get freaked out when someone stares back at them :-)… Happened a few times to us this weekend and the boys thought it was funny…LOL.. bet your kids would love it!!
