It’s Summertime in sunny Florida and what better way then to kick off your BBQ this year. #FreshFromFl has wonderful produce options every single month and while produce is in season it is always the freshest and best to dish up for your family.
This month our produce that wowed my family was Florida Sweet Corn. It is totally in season and locally grown anywhere you see the Fresh From Florida logo. Sweet Corn is a stable during the summer month it’s easy to prepare, can be used in many dishes and everyone enjoys eating it. I remember when I was a little girl, corn in the fields was mesmerizing and we even picked fresh corn, removed the husk and ate it just the way it was fresh from the field. Yumm … Ohhh the memories!
We love to include corn in our salads and salsa’s and to kick off our BBQ season I decided to mix all my favorite ingredients into one simple salsa that will be loved by everyone. It will only take minutes to make but is great for parties to dip chips in or add it to your tacos. The possibilities with my Corn & Avocado Salsa are endless.
Mouthwatering, isn’t it? It was very fresh and delicious. My husband even said it was his favorite salsa by far. If you like it a little spicy, add extra Jalapeño peppers to give you an extra kick, salt & pepper to taste if you like, too. Serve with chips, corn chips or even tacos, I also enjoyed it as a side to my steak.
For more information or what produce is in Season in Florida, be sure to visit Fresh From Florida on Facebook or Fresh From Florida on Twitter. They have amazing recipes and feature different produce each month. I’m sure there is plenty to satisfy everyone in your family. The current feature recipe is Florida Sweet Corn with Southern Barbecue Butter. Yumm… will be on our dinner table soon, too.

This looks really good, as most of your recipes do. It would be great to bring to a summer party, different than the salsa I usually bring.
