I have to admit, I have been out of the loop for some time. My boys are grown and over the Pokemon age, so I thought. I remember back in the day, they would spend hours every day playing Pokemon, trading and collecting cards. Some links may be an affiliate link, just thought I’d mention it. However, I thought Pokemon had been gone forever, kind of like all our favorite shows and games that we all grew up with in the 70’s and 80’s right?
Well, boy was I wrong. A few weeks ago I saw a friend mention on Facebook in her status “A good mom is out at midnight catching Pokémon’s”. I kind of thought “What in the world?” I kind of brushed it off thinking maybe her kids found her old stash of Pokemon cards and let it go. Till… it hit me days later that this had nothing to do with the games from the 90’s, nope there is a new game on the horizon.
My kids have been playing non stop, my husband has been playing right alongside them. Now, it’s not that crazy in my house that the kids skip their chores or my husband would miss work. We totally play in moderation and with common sense. I’ve heard people run in front of cars or take vacation time from work to play, really? Can people be that crazy? Well, let me tell you, it is fun to play but keep your common sense and don’t let it lure you in 100%. It’s a game after all.
All that Pokemon fever that caught us had me inspired to make a fun drink for the kids after they come back home from their hunt, especially as hot it has been in Florida lately. This is a totally inspired drink by a Pokemon character called Ponyta, so a wild drink would be the perfect fit.
Isn’t it fun? So simple and so delicious. My kids loved it and hubby was kind of impressed as to how much thought I put into this drink. So if you have a few Pokemon hunters in your home make their day and surprise them with this drink.
Would love to hear all about your Pokemon Adventures and what you think of the game. Leave me a comment below and any tips on my drink inspiration are always welcome, too.
Please play responsible and don’t let the game take over your day!! Make it fun, keep it fun and enjoy yourself.

this is great! I’m not playing the new Pokemon game, but it think it’s great that it’s got people going outside and exploring new areas. Lots of families are playing it together, which is awesome! I was at our local university campus for an event a few Sundays ago, and the plazas were filled with college kids playing PokemonGo. it was adorable.
