Another month, another challenge with Champions for Kids. We love working with Champions for kids to get the community involved in helping children in need. Our April project was to team up with Odwalla to show children a healthy drink choice as well as a plan a fun “Game Day ”.
As you have heard in previous blog posts and partnerships with Champions for Kids, this is all about the kids. I started thinking on who would be best suited for this Game Day Challenge and many came to mind, but one stuck with me. My Pre-K princess’s Pre-K Class. Each year they have Game Day’s at her Elementary school and each year they run low on fun things and challenging things for the kids.
The year is nearing to an end and in Sunny Central Florida the temps are just climbing by the day. What more fun then to surprise our little Pre-K munchkins with a lot of outdoor activities for a fun game day for the entire class to enjoy. The best part, the teachers wouldn’t have to spend a dime out of their pocket to get the kids entertained. Awesome, isn’t it?
In case you aren’t familiar with the program or what Champions for kids does, be sure to go visit their Website, follow on Facebook or Twitter. Champions for Kids is amazing program and the best part you can do it and help boys & girls in your very own community.

So we set off to Walmart to pick up some fun game day toys and drinks for all the boys and girls in my Pre-K Princess’s Pre-K class, of course we let our Princess be part of the toy decision process, after all who would know what toys are the most fun for her class, right…
When we go to Walmart, we always have a game plan, because it usually is on a Sunday morning, early. Early enough before the crowed gets there. Our first stop is usually the Bakery to grab something special for Sunday Breakfast, I was quit surprised when I walked into our Walmart today and this greeted me at the entrance.. check it out below, how could I have said no to this…….
Okay, back to reality after we grabbed a few boxes of ahhmmm… Krispy Kreme and off to the Toy department our crew went…of course, we got side tracked along the way quit a bit and after 2 hours of Ooohh’s and Ahhh’s and a cart full of groceries and toys, we loaded our car.
We had a few more stops along the way before we finally arrived at home and my Princess was super excited to put together her Game Day fun for her class. I had no idea how a few dollars will make a difference in a pre-K class for a fun game day, anyone could do that and have some fun with the little ones.
My princess was so proud of the items we bought, she just had to show them off to give everyone some ideas on what would be a fun day for any preschooler, remember, she was the one who picked the toys!
Two HUGE bags full of fun, as you can see, she is very excited to show all her fun things off to her class this week. But we can’t spoil the surprise just yet, incase her teacher or Classmates are reading our Blog, so we decided to write another blog post in a few days to show you what we actually bought and what everyone’s reaction was… Be sure to come back and check it out.
For more information on how to help you local community or get some ideas and tips on how to help children everywhere, be sure to check out the following resources. Lot’s of amazing things, tips, and ideas you don’t want to miss.
Okay, okay, I know you are curious to see what we bought…. Fine…. . I’ll give you a sneak peek….
Gotta have some yummy drinks to stay hydrated in the Hot Florida Sun and I thought Odwalla will do the trick. Kids will love it and Mom’s will approve it. So, enough said about our surprise Game Day at my Princess’s Pre-K Class, come back in a few days to find out how it went and what we gave the class to keep them active and moving and off the tables and chairs…:0)
So, hang tight and maybe give us some guesses of what we included in our Game Day activities and what would you include to keep your little ones entertained, would love to hear your ideas…. comment away….
