I’m a Computer Geek, there I said it. I’m always the get to person at the office if something goes wrong and at home, well… no one but me knows how to fix a broken PC. I guess some call it I’m valuable.. well.. I guess if you say so…lol Smile

We had some internet problems on and off the last few weeks and I couldn’t really figure out what our issue was, we had a brand new computer, so that wasn’t the issue. I did a little research and figured out, it had to be my wireless router.

I quickly turned to a company that I trust for many many year called Linksys. I love their products and know they perform the way I need them, no matter what condition. Linksys always delivers performance and is very dependable.

I decided after some research and a lot of reading on the Cisco-Linksys E4200 Maximum Performance Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless-N Router.

I found some interesting facts about the Router that made me decide on this particular router:

Finally we received our Cisco-Linksys E4200 Maximum Performance Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless-N Router; let’s get started.

Setup was a breeze, it took me about 15 minutes and that was with a screaming toddler on my hip. I installed the software that is included in the package, followed directions and hooked up the cable provided. …….. then I sat there… not because I was waiting for the PC to run or the internet to kick in, NOPE.. I couldn’t believe that I was done. I still have the System sitting on op of my PC just in case I need to remove wires etc…. That’s’ it.. really.. that was so simple.

Within minutes it detected my internet connection and had me up and running. I was impressed, but that’s also what I expected from a company like Cisco.

This is what I really like about this Router:

  • Fast & Easy Setup
  • All my wireless devices just kicked in and I didn’t had any addl installation ( other then inserting the password into the device to connect to the internet).
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Security… it’s AWESOME, I can set parental Control, even have a set for a guest user.. I LOVE that!!! So important…
  • I love the reach of the wireless signal, I can walk across the house and still have a HIGH signal, unlike my old router only got me 1/2 way through the house bef. I lost signal… AWESOME.
  • Build in USB.. I love that I can hook my external Hard drive up and transfer files at a higher speed …LOVE it…

  9. I’ve used Linksys routers for years, and I love them. Even more so now with Cisco behind them. My netbook is N-capable, but my present Linksys router is not. I can’t afford to upgrade, so I hope I win this! I work from home and speed is essential to productivity.

  12. Our router is just terrible..we need a new one where we won’t have any problems with more than one computer..I have kids that will be getting laptops soon and I would love for this to be a easy process for us and them.

  22. Good article but I have the same router and for me it doesn’t work well at all!

    Reception is bad… Even worse then my old router.
    I’m disappointed. For example: if i go to a room next one floor lower. Reception is gone or totally weak…

    Do you have any ideas what settings I might check. However it’s out of the box installed, and yes installation is sweet…

  33. A good router is a loved router. Wireless N is so much better than G or B! I definitely need to upgrade to N. With four different laptops running (often) simultaneously at our house … you can imagine the download delays I have.

  36. I would love to win this because first of all I’ve used a Linksys router in the past and I loved it! Second of all right now we need a new router in my house. My Mom bought a cheap router a few months ago (not Linksys) and it’s already not working, and I know if she had gotten Linksys we wouldn’t be having any problem.
