Come check out BMO Harris Bank Scavenger Hunt Week 2 how you can prepare for a new job and enter to #WIN up to $2000 #BMOScavengerHunt

Have you been looking for a new job, lost an old one or maybe looking for the right one? These can be very hard times in someone’s life, fortunately I can say I’ve been at my current job for over 12 years and so far didn’t have to worry about any of this. Things can change however, in the blink of an eye and are you prepared for it?

What if your job hunt takes longer than anticipated, will you run out of savings before something else comes along? Preparing is the best thing to do, if you are planning on leaving a job, start saving your money and only buy the most needed items to make it through the week till you have a new job; if you lost your job unexpectedly, be sure to start looking right away so you don’t deplete all your savings. It can be an exciting time of your life, but also turn into a scary time really quick.

They have some great suggestions as I’ve visited their facebook page a few times. We are weathering the economic strain by not going into debt and being very practical in our purchases.

This sounds like a great way to help educate people about finances and how to be great savers. We know the scary event of going live without a job for a time. SO when the husband begins working again, that is the first thing we are building up; our savings reserve that will get us through in case we have a job change again; we will be alright for the time it takes him to find a new one.

We try to be frugal for the most part but shop for quality and longevity for other things. Spend a little more for higher priced items because then we’ll be able to get more use out of them before needing to make another purchase.
