It’s finally Spring time! I just love spring in Florida, the days are getting longer and it’s nice and warm, low humidity and just perfect to spend lots of time outside. My Peanut Gallery loves to hang out outside and enjoy the warm sun. I hardly can keep them inside.
Just in time for Spring I’m doing some spring cleaning and getting the pup’s ready for the hot summer in Florida. One thing I like to do in spring is to change their food. It’s a nice change for the pups but also to get some new nutrition into the pups. Sometimes they get in a rut just like we do and they love when I switch it up.
Usually in spring time I pick up Purina Beyond®. I like Purina Beyond® because it has real meat, poultry or fish as the #1 ingredient, has no corn, wheat or soy and no poultry by-product meal as well as no added artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
I watch what my pups eat just like I watch the food I serve my family and Purina has been our food of choice for some time now. I found a great deal at Target with the Cartwheel App for Purina Beyond for the week of 3/12-3/18/2017 you can save 20% off Beyond Dry (all sizes) dog food. This is an awesome deal and totally time to stock up for my Peanut Gallery.
Another thing I love to do is dress up my pups, an easy way is to put fun colored Bandanas on them. They are so easy to make, very cheap and easy to replace. I’ve seen many cute Bandanas online and in store but honestly I will not spend $10+ for a Bandana. My dogs like to roll in the dirt and the grass and usually within hours they have their Bandanas all messed up. No way I will spend a lot of money for them to look cute. So for some time now I pick up pieces of Fabric at various stores, they are always cheap and that makes it easy to pick up a few at a time.
Isn’t Woodstock looking cute in his Bandana? He sure is a ham, he loves when I dress him up. I think your pup will love it, too. Check out below how easy it can be. No Sew and no Iron, all you need is a pair of Pinking Shears Scissors and a piece of fabric, I usually get pre-cut piece they range from 20×20 to 18×21 sizes, depending on the store and usually are a buck a piece and I can make at least 2 Bandanas out of one piece of fabric.
I fold the fabric in half diagonally, cut off the piece that is too much, if you don’t have a square fabric. Cut each side with the Pinking Shears Scissors so it won’t fray and also looks cute, call your pup over and die it around his/her neck. Voila… Done is your no-sew and no iron pretty bandana. That’s about it!
Super simple, isn’t it? These Bandanas fit my Shih-Tzu as well as a medium size beagle, if you have a little extra after you tie the knot, just cut it off or leave it, wasn’t a big deal for us.
You can customize it your likes with stickers or if you have a die cut machine but mine get a new one once a week so I don’t bother, but for special occasions I like to add just sticker, they stay on pretty good for some time.
Isn’t this a cute way to say Hello to spring with your pups? Do you make your own bandanas? Would love to hear how you create them. Also, have you tried Purina Beyond®? Did your dog like it as much as mine have? Leave me a comment below, I can’t wait to hear from you!
