Crockpot Thursday – Beef Stroganoff

December 30, 2010 By Melanie Roberts 12 Comments

Oh, this was a quick and easy recipe and it was so yummy. The only thing hubby wasn’t reading the directions to only put 8oz of sour cream in, he put the entire 16 oz cup in…. lol.. so make sure you only use 8 oz, otherwise it’s too sour creamy, still tasty but creamy….

This is what you need:

2- lbs. boneless beef chuck steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
10 ounces sliced mushrooms
1 envelope  Onion Soup Mix
Seasoning ( your favorite)
1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 container (8 oz.) sour cream

How to make it:

  1. Toss beef with flour in slow cooker; Stir in remaining ingredients, except sour cream.
  2. Cook on low for 8 hrs or high for 6 hours, till meat is tender.
  3. Right before serving, stir in sour cream, serve over pasta or rice
