Growing up in Germany, we use a lot of Curry powder in our dishes, not quite as much as some eastern European countries, but we use it a lot. The Curry at home is a little more intense and milder in taste then the one I can buy here in Florida at the local grocery store. I hardly ever cook with curry here. It’s just not the same. But when I found a recipe the other day for Curry Chicken, I just had to give it a try. I wasn’t sure if my family would like or care for it at all. I don’t even know if hubby and the kids ever tasted curry before… so I took a chance and made this Curry Chicken…..I dumped everything into the Crockpot on my way out the door and when I came home, the house smelled yummy.. like I cooked all-day. I had my neighbor stop in for a quick chat and she was determined that she wanted to stay for supper… it smelled soo yummy… once dinner was ready and everyone on the table… I was kind of tense to see if everyone likes supper or if I would have to make something else… to my surprise this was a hit.. everyone really enjoyed it, the flavor was wonderful, yet different, but very likable…
This really was simple.. this is what you will need:
1 pack of chicken
1 jar Salsa ( your choice)
1 onion, chopped
2 TSP Curry Powder ( or to taste…)
1 cup Sour Cream
This is how to make it:
Toss the salsa, onions & Curry powder in the crock pot, mix well and add the chicken, close the lid for 8-10 hours on low or 4-6 hours on high; remove the chicken about 10 minutes or so before serving dinner, add the sour cream to the “sauce” mix well and serve over the chicken.
We had rice with our dinner, but you can make pasta or any other kind of side dish…
This was delicious… and soo yummy… Hubby asked to make it again real soon J

mmm this looks really good. We have an Indian Buffet here that I like going to simply because the food is literally so tasty. I love it. I have tried to make curry chicken at home and the curry just never seems to taste right to me.. I am beyond excited that you posted pictures with this. It makes it alot easier on my end. 🙂 Thanks for the post, I will be going through your other recipes!!
