The Boys & Hubby voted for Beef and well.. my single vote for something else wasn’t cutting it… so I gave hubby the task to come up with something different, cheap and easy… He choose the Swiss Steak. I’m not too sure why it’s called Swiss steak, because to me it’s almost like Mexican beef, but oh well… it actually was pretty good, I like beef roast and my favorite is in the Crockpot, so it wasn’t a bad choice at all. I know the recipe calls for round steak, I didn’t had any so we used a roast, ended up really good, too.
Happy Thursday and what’s cooking in your kitchen today??
This is what you will need:

- 2 lb round steak, cut into serving pieces ( we used a roast)
- 1 tsp. salt ( if you use the soup mix, leave the salt out)
- ½ tsp. pepper
- 1 large onion or 1 pkg dry onion soup mix ( well we used both..lol)
- 16 oz tomatoes ( we used stewed)
This is how to make it:
- Toss everything in the Crockpot, close lid and put on high for 3-4 hours and on low for 6-10 hours
That’s it.. so simple.. we served it with Mac’ n Cheese, since the kids love Mac’ n Cheese and a salad, cheap and quick dinner.. yet very tasty

Are you supposed to add water
Melanie Roberts says
We never do, the liquid from the meet mixes nicely with the tomatoes, we never had a problem, but you could add a little beef stock or water if you like
