Currywurst Homemade in no time for the Big Game

We are a big sports family and growing up in Germany, Soccer was our sport of choice. We love to celebrate our team and have parties for each game. We serve snacks, like this Currywurst, drinks and all kind of street food and since we are in the US and Soccer isn’t that big here yet, we love to keep our party traditions alive with Football games. My husband is a big Football nut and loves to watch every game, doesn’t matter the team. As long as Football is on, he is happy.

The other day I surprised him with his favorite street food from Germany during one of the Sunday Games, he was so excited and asked me to make it again during the big game so he can share it with all his friends. I decided why not share this simple recipe with all my friends and readers as well, right? It is so easy and the sauce can be used for so many things, trust me, you will want to keep a jar in the fridge for those snack nights. It will come in handy and you will find many uses besides Currywurst for the sauce.

I picked up all the ingredients, which were only a few spices, the French’s Ketchup, Applesauce and of course Brats at Walmart during my weekly shopping trip. Check out how easy it is to make this delicious, unbelievable, amazing sauce.

I did tell you it was easy, right? I also told you it is AMAZING, right? Currywurst is a well known street food in Germany, everyone loves it and everyone raves about it. They sell it in front of every grocery store, during every sport event and even at carnivals, so why not dish it up during your next event? I’ve tried many recipes some had a ton of ingredients, some had little and some are sweet and some very sour, this one ended up to be our favorite. The applesauce and the French’s Ketchup give it the perfect sweet/tomato combination. I know, totally sounds strange but trust me, you will want to try it!

I’ve tried different Ketchup with this Curry Sauce as well and loved how French’s Ketchup gave it the perfect flavor, I also love that French’s Ketchup uses real ingredients, like real sugar and high quality tomatoes, which make it taste great! It has no GMOs, high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, or artificial flavors and colors, perfect for my family and makes me feel good adding it to our meals.

If you haven’t tried the French’s Ketchup, I highly encourage you to pick it up for this Curry Sauce to get the perfect flavor and French’s is doing its part in the community through a partnership with Feeding America, donating 10 million meals in 2017, so when you buy one bottle you not only help feed your family but all of America, win win for all!

Serve your Currywurst with French Fries or a bread roll, drizzle as much of the Curry Sauce over your bratwurst and fries or bread as you like, sprinkle some extra curry over everything and …. ENJOY!!

What will you dish up for the Big Game? Would love to hear all about it and maybe get some additional ideas what we can serve, too.
