Summer is slowly dwindling down, kids are getting ready to head back to school this week and I wanted to send them off with a final summer hooray. To celebrate their milestone and the funnel school year they have ahead of them.
You know I love my German Ice Cream desserts and every time we visit Germany that is the first place we go to, the Ice Cream parlor. Their fruits cups, dessert cups and everything else imaginable are just amazing! Unlike anything I’ve seen in the States. My kids enjoy it as much as I do and I came across a few fun recipes on the Breyers website and just had to try one and see how it compared.
So far Breyers has been the only ice cream I like to buy since it is very close to what I’m used to from home. The Breyers Natural Vanilla is my favorite, it is made with fresh cream, sugar, milk and sustainably farmed vanilla beans. The ingredients are right there on your box, easy to see and easy to read. That’s how you do ice cream!
Anyways, there is no denying that Breyers Natural Vanilla is America’s No. 1 vanilla ice cream, I love it, my kids love it and I feel very good about feeding it to my family and so should you.
Chef Antonia Lofaso created 5 fun and super delicious family friendly recipes featuring the Natural Vanilla and I decided to dish up the stars and stripes sundae. It is full of fruit, flavor and deliciousness and that’s exactly how I expect ice cream to be served.
It was very simple to make, I picked up all my ingredients at Walmart, but you can purchase your Breyers at your favorite local retailer nationwide, retail price ranges from $3.99 – $5.99 making this a very affordable family dessert idea.
Affordability is key, in Germany we love our Ice Cream Parlors, but with each cup costing about $7-$8 with a family of 5, that ends up to be a lot. It is so much easier and more affordable to pick up one container of the Breyers Natural Vanilla and dish up your very own at home, anytime!
Now my Stars and Stripes Sundae turned out perfect, just like the website recipe told me to do and I was super surprised how easy it was to actually dish up such a fancy dessert. Took me no time at all and I had 5 of these delicious sweets on the table for the kids to enjoy on their back to school treat night.
If I can do it, you can do it, too! I know Strawberries and Blueberries are still in the store, so head out pick up your fruit along with your Breyers Natural Vanilla and make it a fun family night. With Labor Day coming up, this would also be a super fun dessert to dish up to say Goodbye to summer with your family and friends.
Just incase you didn’t know. All Breyers vanilla is real and from sustainably farmed, Rainforest Alliance Certified™ vanilla beans and Breyers now sources milk and cream from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones*. Pretty awesome, isn’t it?
Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas about this super fun dessert and for more ideas and mouth watering recipes be sure to follow Breyers on Facebook, Breyers on Twitter and Breyers on Pinterest. You will never miss a treat for sure!
