I love a change every so often and this time when Spring Cleaning Fever hit me, I wanted to make over our kitchen…. I had a set budget and loved the overall style, I just wanted a few color changes and create a different look and feel….
I always loved the look of a French kitchen, where each cabinet looks like a piece of furniture…. I started my search again on Google and found out quickly that those amazing looking “furniture’s” are totally out of my budget and totally no need to replace my cabinets. So I took my next best friend Pinterest and tried to come up with some fun kitchen remodel pictures and to my surprise, I found exactly what I wanted… Feet for my kitchen cabinets… I was so excited, I even called up my Father in Law and told him I found feet….. lol; who would get soo excited to find feet…lo… YUP.. ME!!
Okay, this is what I found on Pinterest from At the Picket Fence; isn’t it beautiful and so DYI…. however
I was not in the mood to find all the different pieces so I went ahead and painted my kickboards all black.. was so simple to do and gave the entire kitchen a different look.. it now looks like they are “floating” in the kitchen….
Once we lived with the Black toe Kicks for a few weeks I found a Feet… at Lowes of all places and guess where.. in the Curtain isle.. yup.. the Curtain Isle… I’m soo in love with my feet and can’t even stop talking about them.
Aren’t they just perfect for my Cabinets.. these are actually Curtain rod ends and they are sold in the Curtain department and these particular ones came in a set of 2 per box, for under $10… I was in LOVE….
we drilled some holes into the bottom of our cabinets and just stuck the screw through and now they are sitting there, nice and tight.. and ohh so pretty… check it out.. no one knows I did this on my own and people keep commenting how good our cabinets look.. everyone thinks we have “Cabinets” siting in the air…lol…… LOVE the new look and what a simple update to your kitchen.
I also found a bunch of different ones through Amazon.com; so worth the “investment” and time to updated this small thing in your kitchen that will make your kitchen look like a million bucks… :0)….
Happy Updating…

OMG! I love the idea. I am such a do it yourselfer and this is just wonderfully fabulous. How awesome and creative of you to come up with curtain rods for feet. Plus, I love the black backdrop to make them look like they are floating. Way to go and bonus points for making your dream kitchen come to life.

I love the floating cabinets idea! With curtain rod ends and a little paint, it has to be one of the least expensive remodel tips that has a HUGE impact on how the kitchen looks.
Thanks for the idea,
