We took a few hours and meet up with some friends to explore the mountain behind our town called “Schwanberg”. Legend has it that the Contessa von Schwanberg, who lived on the Mountain way back in the day, was looking to create a new town; she then told her Sheppard, Kitz, that she will toss her white handkerchief off the mountain and wherever it lands that’s where a new town will be created, it landed and she called the town “Kitzingen”. Pretty cool isn’t it… the history is just amazing, the old homes are beautiful and the view from the mountain just priceless and will get you speechless and just peace and quiet all around you…… well… besides your kids running around having a blast.
The mountain can bee seen for miles; throughout many little towns and it’s just about a mile up of the valleys….the strange part for me was to see that there was no safety at all; if this was America, this would have safety bars and ropes everywhere…. here.. nothing, if you take a wrong step… well… guess you are enjoying a long tumble down… just be sure to have someone pick you up on the bottom…lol…
On the top of the mountain is still a “Closter” home of the Schwanberg Nuns; it’s a Nuns school and all is very quiet and peaceful; I was told we where allowed to visit, so we will have to come back another day.

Check back in a few days and see what else we may have explored…. we are having very hard time finding any kind of Wifi or internet, so bare with us while we may not post for a day or two…. Unfortunately the Internet here isn’t widely available like we are used to in the US.. but we will make the best of it…..
