A few weeks ago I mentioned that I went to Walmart and did a pre-purchase of the Men in Black 3 DVD; It was finally time for Showtime! I cannot tell you how excited I was to finally see MIB3; I literally had counted down the days like a little kid counting for Christmas.
The nice part about me pre-purchasing the MIB3 DVD at Walmart was, that I would be able to watch the movie weeks before the actual release; the actual release date is November 30, 2012. I know I couldn’t have waited that long, I love MIB and all their movies and was on pins and needles to watch the 3rd movie as well. I’m not a big movie theater goer, so DVD’s is the way to go for me.
Our early release copy was available in my Vudu.com account starting November 16; a full 10 plus days prior to the actual movie release in the stores. How super mega awesome cool was that?
Once the clock stroke 5pm on November 16th, there was no holding me back, I was on a mission, a mission to have a fun family time with my hubby and the kids to enjoy the new Men in Black 3. I drove home as quickly as I could from the office and ordered pizza from a new place down the street.
While hubby ran and picked up dinner, I decided to set up our movie on Vudu.com; I wanted to make sure that nothing would get in the way of me and my MIB3 movie. I had never used Vudu.com before, other than to register my pre-purchase. So, I had no idea how long it would take to set up the Playstation3 account and get the movie ready to watch.
Boy, let me tell you. It took hubby longer to drive a block down the street to pick up dinner; or the kids to get their PJ’s on then it took me to set up the PS3 for Vudu.com movie streaming.
Mind you, I had never ever touched our PS3, I know… I’m old school and just can’t figure out all the buttons. Anyhow, I was able, on my own to go to “My Channel” to load Vudu HD Movies App; took less than 3 minutes. Once I had the Movie app loaded I was able to set up my account on the PS3 to log into the Vudu.com account. To be honest, that was the longest part, because my e-mail address is soooooo long and I had to push each button separate (that was kind of annoying, but oh well.. one time set up).
Finally, after… ahhhm, 5.5minutes or so, my account was all set up on the PS3 and I was sitting there, twiddling my thumbs, because hubby was nowhere in sight with dinner. I decided to make a quick salad to go with our Pizza Party to pass some time. I was getting soooo hyper and just wanted to watch the movie…. But, I was able to tame myself and wait for hubby to arrive.
Finally, after a long 10 minutes, hubby arrived, Pizza in hand and it didn’t take us long to plop down and have a fun, comfy family dinner and enjoying the brand new MIB3 movie. I was on cloud nine.
See, how easy it was for us to get an early release of this movie? Totally worth picking up our Pre-Purchase MIB3 copy at Walmart; our actual hard copy will be in the mail in a few weeks, but until then we can keep streaming our favorite movie of the month on Vudu.com, over and over and over; days before everyone else can even pick up their hard copy!
I bet you are totally jealous of us now, no reason to be. Head on over to Vudu.com and you can get early release movies just like we did. That’s the secret…. Do you Vudu?
How does Vudu.com work?
If you have never heard of Vudu.com, don’t feel bad. I had to do a little research for this one, too. I had never heard of Vudu.com before and had no idea what it was. I quickly realized that this Vudu.com is actually a super cool thing, you Pre-purchase specially marked movies like MIB3 and enter your code, you can choose on with platform to watch your movie (early releases on many movies before they go out to the public as well). You can choose between iPad, PC, xBox360, Playstation3 or through your Blu-ray DVD player.
P.s. my Princes did not watch the movie; she got to eat her dinner and the first 2 seconds of the movie and then she went off to the other TV and watched her age appropriate movie; MIB3 is rated PG-13; just in case you were wondering
