Living in Florida has a lot of perks, one is a beautiful Fall. When the rest of country prepares for the cold, we prepare for an amazing Fall season. Fall Season in Florida is the best! You can finally open the doors and windows and enjoy the great outdoors. This is the time when Floridians and visitors can enjoy the great outdoors all day long.
A favorite thing for my family to do is plan fall family getaways, just for a long weekend and our favorite destination for years has been Daytona Beach.
Daytona Beach has kid friendly options, is great for couples, is the festival capital of Florida, a ton of outdoor fun and a lot of free things to do in Daytona Beach. That makes it the travel destination for my family.
Daytona Beach is beautiful this time of the year with a wide variety of activities, dining options and 23 miles of sparkling white sand there is something to keep everyone entertained on your trip. When hubby and I head over for just a couples getaway we love to relax at the beach, let the waves crash onto our feet and enjoy the peace and quiet, but also love to check out the Boardwalk in the evening or catch a great dinner just him and I.
If the entire family comes along, no worries we still have a blast. Daytona Beach is very kid friendly and has lots to offer for everyone’s interest. Like the Daytona International Speedway or the new Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, the largest collection of Florida art in the world. Go deep-sea fishing where some of the best bass fishing in Florida is offered, rent everything you need for endless water sports or visit one of Daytona Beach’s many historical sites.
I bet you did not know that Daytona Beach is known as the Festival Capital of Florida? The area hosts more than 50 festivals throughout the year, and Fall festivals make this one of the best times of the year to visit. With average highs in the mid-70s and average lows in the mid-60 you will love Daytona Beach as much as we do, I guarantee it!
We love heading over to Daytona Beach for a long weekend, fortunately for us we are only about 90 minutes away from the hidden treasure, close to home, but feels like a world far away. The many hotels right on the beach have always been friendly, clean, very affordable and accommodating for my family of 5. They always made us feel welcome.
After we check into the hotel the first trip is to the Beach. We could spend countless of hours chilling, playing and just enjoying family time. This is one annual trip that even my 20 year old will not miss. To this day he keeps asking to tag along for our annual family vacation to Daytona Beach.
After the beach we usually spend the evening at the Boardwalk, it’s a lot of fun for a couple or the entire family. That usually sums up our first day at Daytona Beach.
Day 2 will be visiting one of the festivals that are happening while we are there, this year we will check out the Granada Grand Festival of the Arts, I’m sure it will be a hit. We try to catch a different event every time we go. We also love to eat at one of the many local restaurants, Chain restaurants are also plentiful to be found, but we love to locals, enjoy the small treasures and the fresh catch, different and so good! I encourage you to seek out the local restaurants you will not regret it!
Day 3 is usually another beach day, dinner and more Boardwalk in the evening. Sometimes we catch another event, just depends what’s going on in town that day, but my goal is relaxing and I do plenty of it while in Daytona Beach, that’s for sure.
Day 4 is our trip back home, but not after another round of swimming in the ocean and enjoying lunch at one of the local restaurants our favorite is a small place that is truly a gem and hidden, hence the name of Hidden Treasure Rum Bar & Grill, the Soft crab sandwiches are the best, just sayin’.
To make your very own itinerary for your next Daytona Beach trip, I encourage you to check out their website, it has a lot of information about everything that is going on so you never miss an event. Plan your trip around the festivals, that’s what we usually do. The website also has info about restaurants, hotels and anything else you may need for your trip, all in one place for easy access!
I’m ready for my next trip to Daytona Beach, are you? Have you ever been? Would love to hear your favorite thing to do and if you have never been, I know you will not be disappointed if you consider Daytona Beach for your next family vacation or romantic getaway.
