Handstand Kids

Packaged in a pizza box with a chef’s hat (that fits all-sizes), the Italian Cookbook kit introduces kid chefs ages 3 to 12 to delicious and healthy Italian recipes.

Recipes like There’s Bread in My Salad Panzanella, Oh My Pizza Pie, and Mamma’s Spaghetti & Meatballs will take your little chef around the world through your own kitchen. All the utensils and ingredients are translated into Italian so you can speak the language of Italy as you cook! The recipes are leveled from 1 to 4 garlic cloves so you will know the age appropriate level for your little chef.

We love the Handstand kids cookbooks; they are just so much fun and you can get your kids involved in dinner preparation as well as teach them simple recipes; This Handstand Kids Italian Cookbook comes packaged inside a pizza box, which I though was such a cute idea and also comes with a Chef head; my Toddler loved the head and every time she is cooking we have to put it on :0). It is adjustable to different sizes with Velcro, making it perfect for just about any child to wear it.

The book also introduces you to some basic Italian; loved it; the pictures are labeled in English as well as in Spanish. You can create yummy recipes from anything kids love like Foot long Garlic bread to Best Chicken Pest-o as well as Nutritious & Delicious dinners like “There’s bread in my salad” or “Mangia La Lasagne” all the way to dessert items; this book has lots of yummy recipes and is perfect for the entire family to enjoy.

We decided to make the Mangia La Lasagne the other day and my Toddler was in the middle of preparation as well as assembly; she had a blast helping with dinner…

This is how to make it:

  • 1 package of no-boil or fresh lasagna noodles
  • 2 pounds of marinara or meat sauce
  • 8 ounces of spinach
  • 15 oz of ricotta cheese
  • 1 pound of grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese

This is how to make it:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Mix ricotta and spinach in bowl
  • pour a thin layer of marinara on the bottom of the oven-safe dish, just enough to cover the dish
  • Place a single layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce
  • Put a layer of the ricotta mixture on top of the noddle’s and use your hands to make even layers
  • sprinkle a layer of mozzarella on top
  • repeat the steps till all ingredients are used up
  • sprinkle the top with mozzarella cheese;
  • cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 35 minutes
  • remove the foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes until cheese is slightly browned
  • Allow lasagna to cool for about 10 minutes before serving…..

ENJOY…..

great review-this is something my daughter would love! my mother in law is 100% italian and makes wonderful dishes (complicated) from scratch so this would be wonderful for us-more simple!
