Invited to a BBQ this summer, bring simple dipping sauces and have fun #CookWithKohls Sweepstakes and Giveaway

Invited to a BBQ this summer, bring simple dipping sauces and have fun #CookWithKohls Sweepstakes and Giveaway

I got an e-mail the other day and it had to do with two of my all-time favorite companies, Kohl’s and Food Network. They have an amazing summer sweepstakes going on and they wanted me to join in on the fun. I was given a Gift card and my assignment was to head to my local Kohl’s or I could have gone online, to check out the huge Food Network product selection at Kohl’s. I knew they had a few products, but I had no idea that they had THAT many. I was pleasantly surprised.

I found everything from cookware, bakeware to tableware and serving dishes to utensils and many other products. I had a really hard time choosing. I wanted them all! I did spend a good hour in the store walking back and forth, trying to come up with a item that I really love. I found some measuring bowls and had to reach down, once I moved them a box appeared with a food processor on it. I was kind of excited, this little hidden gem had been on my wish list for forever and I quickly did a price check and for $29.99 this baby had to come home with me.

I also found a beautiful serving platter and the same cereal bowls to go with it, I knew they would be perfect for my dipping sauces to bring along for Summer BBQ’s. I spend under $50 bucks and couldn’t believe the deal I’ve got, oh and I ended up with $10 Kohl’s cash. Yup, awesome deal.

We love to host Picnic BBQ’s and everyone brings a dish. The Food Network Food Processor came in handy, I had a bunch of Tomatoes on hand that I needed to use and I quickly decided a Salsa would be perfect and everyone would enjoy it.

This is how to make a simple Tomato Salsa

  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Lime Juice
  • Cilantro

Put everything into your food processor and blend it; within minutes (even seconds) you will have a fresh homemade Salsa, serve with chips and your friends will ask for more.

I also love Mango Salsa, my favorite. I knew mangos were in the fridge along with anything else, and I had a Mango Salsa in no time.

This is how you make Mango Salsa

  • Mangos, peeled
  • Onions, peeled
  • Jalapeño pepper
  • Lime juice
  • Cilantro

Put everything into your food processor, mix for a few seconds, voila… Mango Salsa is served. It really was THAT simple. I serve Mango Salsa with chips, fried Shrimp or anything else you want a little sweet and kicked up taste. I always run out of Mango Salsa, it’s addictive.

If you have little ones, don’t forget to dish up some Raspberry Salsa, well… Adults will love it, too. It’s as simple as the Mango and Tomato Salsa, just use Raspberries and if they are a bit sour add a little honey or Orange juice to cut the sourness. We love to serve it with crackers, graham crackers or anything else the kids like to dip.

As you can tell. I’m in love with the Food Network Food Processor and I’m soo glad I was able to pick mine up at Kohl’s. The serving dishes quickly became a favorite of mine, too. Aren’t they cute? You better run and grab a few for yourself, I know they will sell out fast. Be sure to check them out online in case you cant make it to the local store. #CookWithKohls can be so simple when you have the right products.
