My Teen is a true bookworm, so when I got an e-mail from one of my favorite Publishing company, Sterling Publishing, asking if my Teen would be interested in checking out a Teen book, he was more then excited. Very rare where there are good books only for Teens. Usually books are either to childish or too grown up, but truly for a Teen sounded great.
The book “ITCH” arrived a few days ago and my Teen hasn’t laid the book down, not even for a second. When I ask him about the book he excitedly tells me the story that he has read so far about a Fourteen year kid named “Itchingham” and they call him “Itch” for short; he also has an unusual passion; unlike normal teens that collect baseball cards or nowadays videogames, he collects elements from the Periodic Table.
My teen got all excited when he told me the story about Itch and his not so simple hobby; it even turned dangerous when Itch learned that his latest purchase is super radioactive- and some seriously bad guys would kill for it.
My teen has been on the etch ever since trying to find out what Itch is up to next and what will happen to the bad guys and will Itch be able to collect all the Periodic Tables that he had hoped for.
Since ITCH’s treasure now has turned out to be treacherous, he must race against time, my teen told me and those who want the hot rock for their own devious reasons, to silent the Earth’s deepest secret forever. If Itch fails, there will be terrifying consequences for the entire planet, and that’s where my teen left me hanging. I’m kind of eager now myself to find out how ITCH can help and accomplishes his task.
The author Simon Mayo is one of Britain’s beloved radio DJs. He works for BBC radio and in 2008 he was recognized as “Radio Broadcaster of the year”. Itch is his first novel, but definitely not his last; the first book is amazing and will keep your teen on his/her toes and keep asking for more of “Itch” adventures. The first book, Itch – The Explosive Adventures of an Element Hunter will be released in the US in April 2013, so very little time t wait, and the second book is already in the making and should be released during the summer, maybe early fall of 2014, so no worry to “Itch” get reading this one and then you can grab the second addition right after. I know we loved the book and if you read it, you will be “itching” for more, too.
Fantastic book for our Teens, to keep exploring and reading instead of playing video games. My Teen loved it and gave the book two thumbs up and highly recommends it to be on every Teens reading list this summer.
“A great debut. You’ll be itching to read more!” —Anthony Horowitz, New York Times bestselling author of the Alex Rider series
“You’d have to work quite hard not to like Itchingham Lofte. . . amid the teenage intrigue and heart-in-mouth escapades there are sequin flashes of real science. . . the story [moves along] in a high-speed Hitchcockian manner…” —The Guardian
Another fun plus is the App that will bring your cover to live; my teen had a blast checking it out and the nice thing, the App is available for free from iTunes as well as the Android market. Be sure to grab it while you are reading the book.
You can grab your very own copy of “ITCH” if you are “Itching” to read it through Amazon.com or many other outlets that sell books like Barnes and Nobles or Books A Million; for more information about Sterling Publishing, be sure to visit their website and if you are looking for info on “Itch” head on over here.
