Living in Florida sure has its perks, everyone thinks we have beautiful hot weather all year long.. WRONG, we do get a winter where it freezes overnight, people think we spend 24/7 at the beach… I wish.. I have a life, working and kids, I haven’t seen the beach in 7-8 years and of course we always have a blue sky, sure keep on dreaming and once you wake up, you will see what Florid is all about. The BUGS… you heard me right, we have bugs galore!
Growing up in Germany, we were always thought that if you have any kind of bugs, especially roaches in your house, you are a bad “Hausfrau”. I always did my hardest to keep my house clean and bugs out until I moved to Florida and my first encounter was the moment I opened the cabinet door in our new apartment. ROCHES!! ANTS!! everywhere. I immediately called my mom in Germany, no idea what I was thinking, I guess I wanted her to fly over and clean, lol.. but the first thing out of her mouth was “OMG, you have to clean better, you never ever should have roaches”. Well.. that was Germany and this is Florida, there is no possible way to keep roaches out of your house by simply keeping it clean.
Trust me, I know. My house is spotless, you could even eat off the floor, but we still get ants when it rains and roaches walk across the floor every so often, too. I know they are here, but as long as they don’t walk across my path and I don’t see them it’s all good.
Most people down here in Florida get professional bug guys to come out and spray every month, that can get quiet costly and my dogs have allergies towards the chemicals, even after I’m being told they are “pet and kid friendly” I end up in the Vet Emergency room with my pup, because he has an allergic reaction. I knew we had to come up with a different plan to keep the roaches out of sight and away from all of us, especially since I found out a few weeks ago that my Teen#2 (yup, the one with all the allergy testing) is highly allergic to roaches.
Well, I found a new product on the store shelf and it looked interesting. It was from Combat, one company that we trust and used for many many years, wheatear it be their ant traps or roach traps, always work well in small areas ( I love to have them in the car under the seat.. YUP.. a car does get bugs, too, especially in Florida).
The new Combat Roach Killing Bait Strips are super cool, they are discreet, you can hide them inside cabinets, under counters by the door, wherever Roaches may hide out in your home and they are easy to apply and best part…NO MESS. These strips kill fast and will keep on killing for up to 3 month, you heard me right.. 3 month! One package has 10 strips and that will last you 3 month if you use all ten strips to keep bugs out of your house. You can use these strips indoor or outdoor, making it perfect for under the window or door, where these bugs like to come in, especially after a rain storm, we see lots of them migrate into the homes.
Besides Roaches, Ants is another BIG, super Big issue. There is also a new discreet Ant Killing Bait Strip that will kill the ants, because we do know, they keep marching in when the Florida Rainy season begins and then once they marched in, you are stuck with the unwanted visitors unless you Kill them. No other way around.
Both the Ant Killing Bait Strips as well as the Roche Bait Strips will kill the entire Colony and/or Nest. Making it super easy to keep your home pest free for up to 3 month.
So, what are you waiting for? Open those cabinets and count your roaches, then run to Walmart, Target or any other store that sells the Combat products and grab a few of the new Bait strips an get your house under control, show them Bugs who owns the house and enjoy your peace and quiet for the next 3 month.
For more information and preventative tips be sure to visit Combat on the web and you can purchase the new Combat Roach/Ant Strips or any other Combat product at your local Walmart, Target or any other store that carries these types of products.
