The holidays are over, I’m a bit bummed but also excited to get back to normal. If you can call it normal, my house is always crazy. I do have to say cooking lavish dinners the last few weeks took a toll on me and my health. I love cooking and spoiling my family, but now it’s time to let someone else help me. Did you know Marie Callender’s tastes like homemade? I put it to the test and check out below what my family and I thought of the Marie Callender’s pot pies. #EasyAsPotPie #CollectiveBias
I have to be honest, I’ve never ever had any kind of pot pie before. Growing up in Germany, that wasn’t really anything anyone made and once I moved to the US I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had heard of Marie Callender’s before and love their pies, but pot pie wasn’t on the top of my list. My kids kept asking me to make one and finally I gave in and boy am I glad I did.
During my last Walmart trip, I made my dinner ideas while shopping down the aisles and I somehow stopped in the freezer section right in front of the Marie Callender’s Pot Pie selection. Why not, make it a New Year’s resolution to have someone help you with dinner. I was also pleasantly surprised that the single serve pot pies $2.00 each. Can’t beat that price! They also have family size pot pies.
While I grabbed a few of the chicken Marie Callender’s Pot Pies I was excited that they also had a beef pot pie, since my son is highly allergic to chicken as well as pork and a lot of pre-made meals have chicken or pork somewhere in their ingredient list. Love that I can dish up a simple yet hearty dinner idea anytime of the week and don’t have to worry about him not being able to eat. Marie Callender’s Pot Pies can help you serve a quick and easy, but still hearty and delicious meal.
Now once I had my dinner idea, I knew it would be an easy dinner, I decided to make some dessert while my Marie Callender’s Pot Pies were in the oven, how about a Fruit Crips casserole? I love simple yet fresh ingredients and I thought that would complement the homemade gravy mixed with vegetables and all white-meat chicken, in a golden, perfectly flaky crust that’s made from scratch Marie Callender’s Pot Pie. I knew it would pair well with the beef pot pie, too.
Making the Marie Callender’s Pot Pies is very simple, they can be made in the microwave as well as the oven. Just follow the directions on the packaging and you will not be disappointed. The homemade flavor, the perfectly flaky crust that’s made from scratch, ahhhh… so simple, yet so delicious. Your family will think you slaved for hours. Shhhh… We can let Marie Callender’s be our little secret.
I love the fall and winter fruits like Apples, Pears and Cranberries and they turned out perfect in this Fruit Crisp and if you add a little whip cream, it’s a dream dessert. Super simple but flavorful just like your Marie Callender’s Pot Pie dinner. A perfect combination!
Now you have a simple, yet flavorful and delicious dinner idea that is both affordable and super easy to prepare. Your family will love it just like mine did and may ask you to add this to the weekly meal plan more often. Such a great family time, all sitting at the table and enjoying wonderful homemade dinners. What a great comfort food.

I love those pot pies they taste close to homemade. I don’t like to use processed food but sometimes you have to and these are close to homemade and cheaper than eating out. The fruit crisp looks good I will try that with Sunday dinner. Thanks
