The princess starts Kindergarten next week and since she is bringing a lunchbox from home I took her shopping at Walmart for all her lunchtime and snacktime items. I decided to let her pick what she wanted to make it fun and take the anxiety for going to Kindergarten away from her. I want this to be fun for her and picking her very own snack items sure would keep her excited, maybe we can find some Lunchables.
We strolled the aisles at Walmart to find the perfect lunchtime and snacktime items for her to take to Kindergarten. Since we don’t have a fridge in Kindergarten nor a microwave I needed things that would keep in her lunchbox for a good 4-5 hours before she would eat it.
For some reason we walked down the baby food section, no idea why; my Princess surely isn’t a baby anymore, but while we walked down the aisle something caught my eye. There is was a brand new product from Lunchables, Lunchables Jr. to be exact. At first I was a bit confused; Lunchables are usually found in the refrigerated section of Walmart. I took a package and had to check it out.
The new Lunchables Jr. are actually super cool; they are for Snacktime 3+ and up and include 3 compartments and come in 4 different flavors. There is Very Beary Crunch, Blueberry Bonanza, Ants on a log and Teddy Bear Picnic. I thought these looked super cool and fun and would be the perfect snacktime item for the princess to take along to Kindergarten.
Each was only $1.97 making it very affordable, but you know me, I found a coupon and saved me some money; remember… Never leave the house without your coupons!
My princess was super excited over her snacktime find and couldn’t stop talking about it. We quickly gathered a few more items at Walmart for her lunchtime and headed home so she could taste test one of the Lunchables Jr. to make sure she would like them. At least that’s what she told me, she needs to test them first.
The new Lunchables Jr. are the perfect snacktime size and fit nicely into our lunchbox. They would also fit inside a book bag or even inside your purse for a snack on the go. So convenient and totally a great alternative to candy and sweets.
After my Princess did her taste test, she decided that they are “Nummy” and totally worth having in her lunchbox for Kindergarten, as a matter of fact she thought she really should test ALL of them before she heads off to Kindergarten, to really be sure she would like them…. Ahhhmm… nice try Princess.
We totally like them and think they are a great alternative to sweets anytime whether it be lunchtime, snacktime or if you are on the go for a quick snack between. Price is right and if your kids won’t eat all of it at once, each compartment could be opened separate or cut apart to have three different snacks. I really like that idea.
For more information about Lunchables, be sure to visit them on the Web or follow on Facebook to keep up with all the cool and new products they come up with. Also, as always, I prepared a Google Plus Story of my Walmart shopping trip, lots of cool new products I found along the way, you don’t want to miss it.
So, what do you think of the new Lunchables Jr.? Would love to hear your thoughts; Good or bad… happy and sad… all counts… talk away!
Happy Snacking …..

My son would loves these. I need to pick some up since he starts school next week and they will be convenient. I’m good about making his lunch on Mon-Weds, but by the time Thursday hits, I’m usually scrambling in the morning to make his lunch. lol. These would make life easier. He’s really like the Very Beary Crunch.

I asked my daughter to look at our Walmart yesterday with the coupons and she couldn’t find them yet. She went down the baby isle but said they were not there. This is the first I got to see exactly what they are. I think some bloggers were confusing the coupons with regular lunchables which on one, I asked about it. Glad you reviewed, thank you

I like the idea of a snack that is relatively healthy, but does not need refrigeration. I am always on the lookout for such snacks since we also struggle with lunch needing to stay fresh. This is not easy in the South during the summer!

These sound good and even better with a coupon! Score!
