Hard to believe we are almost at the end of September and October is quickly approaching. This is my favorite time of the year. Not sure why, but September, October, November and December are my favorite months, maybe because the cooler weather will start to make its way down to Florida, the many holidays and festivities from Fall Festivals to Halloween and of course Thanksgiving and Christmas. I just love this time of the year and if you like it as much as I do, you know it’s not a cheap time of the year either.
I love to decorate for all the different seasons, holidays and parties. I drove the kids to soccer practice the other day and had some time to spare and ran into our neighborhood Dollar Tree to see what new fall products they got in. Well … honestly, the real reason I was there, was for their cotton candy! I’m such a sucker for those little tubs and since they are only a buck, I sneak one or two when I get a chance. What can I say, my guilty pleasure. Have you seen, they have candy corn cotton candy! I love it… shhh … don’t tell the kids that I have a few of the tubs hidden in the car … … While walking around in the store I saw their Halloween candy and thought it would be a fun and affordable way to grab some stuff for the kids Trick or Treat bags or if your school has a Fall festival.
Dollar Tree had these super cute Halloween baggies and they are perfect to hand out at your Halloween/Fall party or for your kids to give to their friends, I grabbed some pencils, erasers and a few bags of candy and within minutes I had enough goodies to fill 24 bags for the kids and my total was $10! Now how is that for a budget friendly Halloween/Fall treat?
I know the kids will love it; You could grab a few other things if you are not a fan of sweets and add like straws, cups and coloring books or markers to your treat bags or if you rather have all candy, Dollar Tree has lots to choose from and the best part, everything you pick is only a buck!
I was excited that I was able to get 24 goodie bags for the kids fall festival for $10 and the kids love to stuff them. It can’t get any better than that; well… of course it could, if you put a few extra tubs of cotton candy in the basked .
Dollar Tree also had smaller zip baggies in case you have a large crowed you need to make treats for; these came 40 to a pack and were only a buck, they easily will hold a few lollipops and some erasers and other things, making the small treat bag a very affordable option for larger groups and you probably will still stay under $10 for 40 little treat bags full of goodies!
I love the little Trick or Treat bags, they will also be cute to send with the kids for lunch during October and add some cookies or chips, they are the perfect size and one package for a buck will last you all month long.
Now you know what we will put into our Trick or Treat bags this year for my daughters 1st grade class and I may even hand those out to our Trick or Treaters at the house, granted we don’t get hundreds of kids, so this will be a good option for us and very affordable.

We are ‘lucky’ to not have a lot of trick or treaters coming to our house. But, in the past I always bought candy at discount stores to save money.
